Staying at Flatford Mill Hostel is an outstanding experience and very good value. We were lodged in a 600-year-old tudor house! Amazing. Breakfast was friendly & generous. The evening meal we booked was really tasty. All of the staff we met went out of their way to accommodate us. The site where Constable imagined the Haywain is right outside the hostel office which overlooks the millpond & Willy Lott's House.

Great location for walking and for exploring the country side of constable country. Really helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast is great. Room is basic and not so large, but on this location, this is not a disadvantage.

The location, especially staying in Willie Lotts house, was fantastic. The accommodation was, although a hostel, warm, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and everyone I met was friendly and efficient. Great value for money. I can’t wait to go back.

I loved everything about my stay at FSC Flatford Mill Hostel. It was the perfect location for the Dedham Mill2Mill swim and to my delight, my room was in Willie Lotts House! Facilities were great, staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was plentiful and varied. I would definitely return.

We stayed in Willy Lott’s house, painted by John Constable in the Haywain in 1821. It comes with old and squeaky floorboards, low ceilings and bunk beds, but felt like a privilege to stay, as many visitors can’t see inside as it’s private. It’s a great old cottage.
