This is a newly opened K's House hostel, I guess there are a few other K's House hostels around Japan. The property itself was immaculate! Huge common area, very large and nice kitchen, an outdoor terrance overlooking a river down below, and onsite Onsen (both indoor and outdoor!). The lady working reception was incredible. She was very helpful with an foot injury I had and I don't know what I would on done without her help. Hostel is immaculate! It takes about 45 minutes by subway or bus to the actual town of Nikko. If you plan on visiting Tobu World Square or any of the hiking/waterfalls north of the town, it is perfect! You get a real mountain town feel being outside of the city center.

The bunk beds gave the place a touch of nostalgia from our youth hostel days. Private parking. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Communication via mail was excellent. Nothing left to wish for.

It is like hostel with bunk beds but you have your private space - it is like very small room somehow that you can lock with the key. It was ok for me as I was out most of the time travelling around and spent there only the nights.

We were allowed to use the whole floor despite another room typically available only to other guests. Although they may not initially look like it, the bunk beds are really comfortable. The view of the stream outside the window is a major plus. This really has the Japanese home feel we really wanted during our trip, away from the regular hotels. Near to bus station (3 mins walk) and Chuzenji Lake Bus Terminal (10 min walk, more bus back to Nikko station). There's also a small local supermarket near the hostel, offering cheap bentos and food ingredients.
