Not too far from Kakunodate Station, near laundry coin, near supermarket and around 10 minutes walk to samurai houses. It's clean and comfy. When I was there, no one beside me is using the bunk bed because Sakura season has passed so the tourist rush was no more. Still, it's a beautiful place and I'd like to come again! Good breakfast mainly Japanese. The restaurant is open for dinner and serves a good standard of meal at a reasonable price. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the main tourist sites.

I guess Kakunodate is not a popular city for foreigners, but I personally liked that. The staff was also super nice and they speak English.

It's Japanese style with a spacious tatami living room, but with beds in the dormitory, very comfortable sleeping quarters. The toilet is in the garage just next to bedrooms, but there's no sink downstairs. You brush your teeth in the kitchen. There's a small oven and microwave, and tea bags. Room is spacious and there are 8 beds there. Just next to it, there's a kitchen and small common room. One can put valuables in a locker and staff provides a padlock. There's a big supermarket nearby, great for buying some food.
