Surrounded by mountains, lakes and the great wilderness of Hokkaido, Mashuko Youth Hostel offers simple accommodation with free WiFi access. Lake Mashu is a 16-minute drive from the hostel.
Guests staying at our hostel can use the coin laundry (fees apply), a sink, drinking water, coffee, tea, and green tea. Other facilities offered at the property include a shared lounge and luggage storage. At the front desk, guests can purchase laundry detergent, tooth brushes and razors.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Mashuko youth hostel, the owner and his family do all the best to make your stay as comfortable as possible! They have vast knowledge about Asan park and it's neighbourhood, plus are very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for hiking and if you want enjoy the wildlife - I saw a fox and deers a couple of times. It's ideal location to visit Mashu lake and climb the Mashu mount, however if you want to visit the other lakes: Kussharo and Akan I recommend renting a car or a mountain bike. Still I really enjoyed staying here and thinking about coming back here in future. Arigato gozaimasu!

Also, there are two hot spring baths, gender separated. On top, there is also a mixed gender outside onsen, which was particularly nice at night.
