It's a small hostel and I really appreciated this. Nice common rooms and kitchen, computer room and lounge, outdoors area. And great location in town. Staff was friendly and excellent. Would have liked to stay longer and would definitely come back.

Lots of space in my dormitory. The kitchen and living space facilities were huge, airy, well equipped. Nice patio area. Great value for money; I stayed in the Wanaka YHA the night before for similar price and the Brownston was vastly superior.

Very clean which makes up for the general run-down state of the lodge/hostel building (as opposed to the lovely main building). Showers surprisingly good with hot water. Cheapest private room of Wanaka that day so yes you get what you pay for.
