Tang An Freedom Hood is a beautiful property with dorms set up for individual comfort, a choice of breakfasts each day as well as a great lunch and dinner menu, free use of bicycles, and a friendly atmosphere provided by Khim, his wife and staff. there is always someone available and ready to help you with whatever need or question you may have. A rooftop patio overlooking a beautiful lake with karsts provided a gorgeous backdrop for my morning yoga, and was a great place to chill in the afternoon. This location is away from the downtown areas of Ninh Binh and/or TamCoc. This was good for me as a solo traveler who is not interested in nightlife beyond swinging in a hammock and watching the moon rise up over the mountains. Serenity was everywhere. Khim helped me plan where to walk and/or bike and his suggestions were spot on. The UNESCO boat tour is an easy walk, or bike there in 5 minutes. Many other beautiful pagodas, ancient cities, and caves are nearby too. They also have scooters to rent which many of the guests were enjoying during my stay. They also have friendly kitties, 2 dogs and a sweet little one year old girl toddling around who provided her own entertainment. I had a fresh towel and bottle of water each day. Clean shared showers and toilets with plenty of hot water. Lots of great sitting areas around the property offered secluded spaces as well as communal tables to chat with other guests.

We had a wonderful homestay experience. The room was clean. The family was very friendly, chatty and helpful. The meals they cooked for us for dinner were extremely delicious and affordable. We even got gifted with snacks and extra water for our little trips around the area and when we left. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. Thank you for having us!

The dorms were spacious and clean as is the rest of the hostel The facility also has a small restaurant. You have a free bfast when you book here. Motorbikes are available for rent. Owners can help with onward bookings.

Renovation is nice, and the rooms are super clean. Location. Staff wasn’t really welcome in the beginning (maybe was tired), but a little bit after all became super welcome and good. Shared big grapefruit from the garden and Vietnamese tea from fresh leaves.

Sign at hostel says city garden hostel btw (image is on Google maps of entrance) Staying in the 4 bed dorm was good. I was alone in there with bathroom next door. (There is another room on the other side of the bathroom, but was also empty at that time) Beds have curtains and socket and lockers. Staff could organize transportation, bus or train. Rent motorbikes or bicycles(good enough to visit all sights around).

Highly recommend this homestay, where all the services and the staff were beyond amazing! The location is one of the best in the whole area, everywhere you turn you can find breathtaking views of the mountains and the river.Truly is a photographers paradise! Clean and well equipped room, with a balcony, AC, TV, frigider and hot water 24 hs. Kind and helpful staff. Will arrange for you a motorbike for rent and a bus ticket for your next destination. A good place to spend few days, while exploring the surrounding national parks.
