Set in Puerto Pirámides, Hostel Bahía Ballenas features a garden, shared lounge, BBQ facilities, and free WiFi throughout the property.

At the hostel, every room has air conditioning and a shared bathroom. This was a basic hostel with very friendly and helpful staff. There was a spacious kitchen with plenty of room for several people to cook and eat at the same time. The manager was quick to help me book a tour around the Valdez Peninsula and even helped coordinate other folks who would like to go so we could split the cost. There was an outside area for gathering. No-one was using it yet as it was cold by Argentinian standards. The location is excellent with easy access to the majority of tour operators, restaurants, stores, and the beach. The bus terminal is only a few blocks away, an easy walk even with luggage. It was surprisingly quiet, even though it was full for the long weekend.

The rooms in the hostel are equipped with a coffee machine. With a private bathroom fitted with a bidet and a hairdryer, rooms at El Cristal also boast free WiFi. At the accommodation rooms come with bed linen and towels.

Only 20 metres from the beach Goos offers practical rooms with satellite TV. Snorkelling trips can be arranged and Puerto Madryn bus terminal station is an hour 15’ drive.
