We stayed for a week and had plenty of time to explore the local museum (you have to do the roundhouse tour), the Isle of Whithorn, the cliffs with the singing seals, Wigtown, the beach at Garlieston... all on foot and by public bus. No mass tourism, everyone is super friendly and accommodating.

It's a well equipped and really nice cottage, comfortable and in a great location just along from the forest tracks and cycling routes. Room to store our bikes safely and just had everything we needed.

Good location for touring. Its similar to some youth hostels I have stayed in with a well equipped kitchen and dinning room . Nice and warm good central heating. TV and internet free. Free parking.

Great location, spacious, clean and good facilities. We stay here when getting the ferry over to Ireland. Laird's Inn is worth a visit (book in advance) nice walk through the woods from the back of the hostel. Cheers Panni :)

Arrived and keys were in keysafe. Such a beautiful and homely cottage in the middle of rolling fields. Stunning scenery and a very beautiful cosy cottage perfect for my family of three children although could sleep more people as there were two double beds and a set if bunk beds.

Owners lovely and very helpful. The cottage was absolutely lovely very quirky. Exceptionally clean. Dog friendly with safe enclosed garden. Kitted out with everything you need, a proper home from home. Beautiful views from the garden. Great location.

This was one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Staff where lovely, kitchen was great, they offered laundry service if needed and they had great information about any walks to go on and other touristy things to do!
