Killarney
Located in Killarney and with St Mary's Cathedral reachable within 300 metres, The Black Sheep Hostel provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared lounge. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The accommodation offers a tour desk, and luggage storage for guests. The hostel is warm and friendly, with 5 communal areas, including the large kitchen and the garden. There is always a spot to sit in without intruding or being intruded upon. The dorms are excellent. The structure of the bunkbeds with their curtains ensures great privacy. Large lockable cupboard under beds for each occupant. Every bed has its own light, light switch, socket and tiny shelf. The base of the each bed is slightly wider than the mattress, giving you storage space next to the mattress at night. Bathrooms are adequate. Showers are blissfully hot, but ingeniously save on water and heating. Breakfast is taken a step up from basic (cereal, fruit, toast) with the dailly addition of home-made soda bread. If there are any free range eggs from the resident chickens, you can make some for yourself. The kitchen has four gas cooking stations. There are shelves to store labeled food (labels provided), but also, importantly, shelves where you can leave any groceries behind on the FREE shelves. There is always pasta for free, so no-one starves here. Coffee and tea are free too at any time. Free parking is available in the car park next to the nearby cathedral. A coffee bar provides an assortment of hot drinks, which can be bought just outside the front door. The lounge has several nooks as well as books aplenty. In the best backpacker tradition, here you find creativity, open-mindedness, interesting conversation, people from all over the world, recycling and excellent organisation. Highly recommended as one of the best backpackers I have ever stayed in.

Great location, lovely and clean, beds were comfy, the check in staff were very welcoming, would highly recommend this hostel. I travelled on my own and felt very safe
The apartment was clean, modern, and in a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's very safe and secure, with key cards used at various stages to get access to the building. It's an ideal option if you're on a budget and looking for something simple.
Beautiful remote quiet location and clean modern facilities. Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at and fabulous value for money. Only downside was that noise could be heard so easily from adjoining rooms 🤭 plus the bunk bed mattresses, whilst fine for kids, had hard springs for a teenager but the staff kindly provided a mattress from a fold out bed as a topper. Whilst overall the staff weren’t very friendly, they were extremely helpful and accommodating.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities and comfortable rooms. One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in.
The best value for money - hostel I have been in Ireland : really cheap, overall god quality of facilities, quick check-in : check-out and perfect location ! Highly recommended for small budget travellers !
Great location, cheap hostel with simple facilities, nice staff
One of the best hostel ever! The owner was very nice, good location, room and bathroom very clean, fireplace in the main hall, good breakfast (with fresh eggs from owner's hens and ducks!) and all at a very cheap price!
The people and the general atmosphere as well as the facilities all come together to create one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in during my solo travels. It’s safe and right by everywhere you’d want to go. Definitely would highly recommend!
This was the best hostel I have stayed at so far, amazing staff, a very well equipped kitchen, extremely clean bathrooms/hallways. i loved it here, the staff were friendly and accomodating, the bathroom had cool music, it was very central and close to town. I felt safe and comfortable here as a sole female traveller
