The owner was super sweet, took the time to show me on a map the best tourist attractions in Sokcho and how to get around using the public bus systems. The location is fantastic, 3 min from the intercity bus terminal and 2 min from the public bus station that will take you the national park. The hostel facilities are great, there is free laundry. I had a room with a private bathroom, everything was very clean. I highly recommend.

The hostel is within a 15-minute drive from Songjeong Beach and the famous coffee street along the beach. Ojukheon, a famous residence of a politician of Joseon Dynasty built in the 1500s, is also within a 15-miute from the hostel. Gangneung Express Bus Terminal is a 10-minute drive away. Exactly like all the good reviews. Host is very friendly and helpful, host gave me a ride to Ambok coffee street as she happened to have lunch appointment near by, very grateful. Clean cosy place, very simple walking distance from Gangneung Station and central market, including eating places. Highly recommended.

He really helped me have an amazing time in Gangnueng. This property is so close to the traditional market which is brimming with good smells and things to try. Probably the nicest I’ve seen in Korea. You can also get a bus quite easily to the lake and beach areas. You can even get a coach to and from Serokasan mountain if you leave early enough! It’s a clean, quite place where you can make a nice breakfast or relax after a day seeing Gangnueng.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming, will be booking in the future

You can play table tennis at the hostel. Seorak Waterpia is under a 20-minute drive from 블루 도어 호스텔 게스트하우스, while Sokcho Beach is under a 20-minute walk away. The accommodation looked exactly like the photos (dog included!). They provided all the basic necessities (e.g., toiletries and bottled water). In terms of location, the hostel was near the seaside and was around ~15 minutes by foot from the express bus terminal. Above all, however, the hosts were very kind and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!
