We looved our stay in Huaraz at Ivan’s hostel, in the end we stayed 7 nights. It has perfect location super close to everything. Comfy beds and great shower with hot water, and every day cleaning :). Part of hostel is as well travel agency with all the trips you want to do in Huaraz :) (day hikes but as well multiple days) so we did a lot of trips as well. Ivan was helpfull with everything so we can only recommend! we would stay again for sure :)

Staying at Caroline Lodge was like staying with family. Paul and Anita were fantastic hosts, kind, welcoming and accommodating. I made Caroline lodge as my base in Huaraz for nearly 3 weeks. I could always rely on their extensive knowledge of the hikes, treks, and transports. The private rooms provided excellent value for the money, as they were very clean and comfortable, not to mention the wonderful hot water shower. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

But what really made the difference in our experience was the service provided by the staff - food and breakfast were the best, always keeping the room spotless and especially by Wilder and Paola at reception, always willing to help, providing local recommendations They also have a tourism agency always willing to help and making sure that all our needs were attended to promptly. Their genuine hospitality and positive attitude made us feel at home. We are enormously grateful for their kindness, and without a doubt, we recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a truly memorable experience in Huaraz. We where able to check straight in at 7am when we arrived off an overnight bus! and on the day we where leaving we had a 10pm night bus and we where allowed to have the room up to 3pm with no hesitation or extra charge!! We also planned hikes through the owners.

Don’t book anywhere else! The room was great, clean and spacious. Erik our host was absolutely incredible; he picked us up from the bus station and was always available to answer questions about hikes (as he is a guide). He showed us around the city, took us to the mirador and we even did laguna 69 with him and his family. And when our bus to Lima was canceled, he truly saved us by arranging a colectivo and giving directions on how to get to Lima before our flight. A simple breakfast was provided most days and when we left too early we asked for some bread the night before to take with us. The shower was decent, hot with good pressure except for one day. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the center. Overall, for the price and the incredible hospitality of Erik, it’s one of the best places we have stayed.

Carla is the perfect host! She is knowledgeable about the region, is a great cook, is friendly and helpful. She also speaks very good English! The ambiance is really homely.

It's localised very close to the city center, the beds are very big and comfortables. The bathroom in the room is spacious and tidy and shared kitchen is also big. I was welcomed with coca tea as I wasnt feeling very well when I arrived. And the Lady from the reception was an ANGEL - I had problem with my flight check-in and she spend over an hour to try to help me with that, looking in the internet and asking other hostels. In the end it worked and she saved me a looot of stress. Thank you once more! :)
