The apartment was terrific with all you needed in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom and the balcony with a view of the water was great too. It was indeed 2. minutes walk downhill to the water - and about 5-7 mins walk back up quite a steep hill - we didn't mind but our elderly parents struggled a bit. It was about 1 km walk around to the swimming beach of Cottesloe - a lovely walk but tough in the 40c heat!!
