Our spacious 4-bedroom oasis, just an hour north of Sydney, is perfect for families looking to escape the city and enjoy some tranquillity. Wintertime is the sunniest season on the coast and the optimum time to explore the abundance of beauty spots on our doorstep, without the premium prices, crowds or sapping summer heat. Or you can stay put and enjoy our warm, spacious house where the kids have entertainment aplenty, and you can enjoy a glass of red on the deck beside our patio heater. The house comfortably sleeps eight, but we cap that at five adults plus kids. (single family units and mature groups only I am afraid). We also welcome dogs. Please contact us before you instant book if you wish to bring your furry friend. Open plan with a cathedral-like high ceiling kept warm with our industrial split-level air con. House enjoys unique interior touches throughout, a labour of love by Alice, who creates furniture for a living. The kitchen dining area enjoys a French farmhouse dining table, smart TV, breakfast bar and stunning sea and bush views. The kitchen opens up to our wonderful entertainment deck. The view is stunning, and the silence is deafening.
We are a young family from England and Scotland (yes they can get along, sometimes), with two little cheeky Aussie kids. I am passionate about interiors, furniture and sustainability. I have a upcycle furniture side-hustle which I run in the limited spare time my kids allow. We found this place five years ago, and couldn't believe our luck. We take great pride in sharing it with visitors through Airbnb, it's been very rewarding labour of love. Enjoy!
Located just over an hour north of Sydney, Umina Beach is the ideal place for a fun and relaxing coastal sojourn. Home to a beautiful beach that’s great for long walks, swimming (Umina Beach and Ocean Beach are patrolled beaches), surfing and paddleboarding, it’s the perfect backdrop to a quintessential Aussie holiday. There’s an array of great bars, restaurants and cafes in Umina, Woy Woy and Ettalong (all within a five-minute drive), or nearby Pearl Beach and Patonga. The suburb is surrounded by pristine bushland begging to be explored on foot as well as sparkling waterways great for fishing, paddling and boating. And there’s always something fun happening on the weekend from markets to food festivals. You will need a car to get around, due to the steep hill we live on. We are 8-minute drive from Woy Woy station, where you can get a train straight into Central Station in Sydney in around one hour and 15. (they run 24/7) There is free parking available at the station. There is a shuttle bus service called Coast Connect (its a function similar to UberPool, that allows you to book in and it will pick you up from the house and take you to the station.
