Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around. Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

    We absolutely loved Stanley!

We absolutely loved Stanley! We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast at Marley's @ Sticks & Stones, Shells & Bones and then caught the chairlift up to the top of the Nut. We loved the sensational views from the summit and did the 45 minute walk around the top. We saw a couple of pademelons too. At sunset, we went down to the beach to wait for the penguins to come in from the sea. We saw loads of them and they were so cute! We also had a visit to Highfields House and enjoyed exploring all the rooms in the exquisitely restored mansion and reading up on all the history. There's lots to do in Stanley.

Loved the location right on the Main Street and so close to everything. The cottage was quite perfect with lots of thought into what would make a guest’s visit extra special……candies, chocolates, lots of different teas to pick from, a decanter of port, and lots of breakfast goodies. We had a beautiful view from the cottage and wished we could have stayed longer than just the one night. There even was a Christmas tree up for the holiday season! Might come back to Stanley from Canada just to stay at Touchwood again!

Typical old style hotel room of decent size with a nicely renovated bathroom. Comfortable bed. Centrally located - an easy walk to most places. We had a large balcony off our room with some water views, which was ideal for an evening drink and a take-away breakfast. Dining room menu (lunch and dinner) looked good. Hursey Seafoods is worth a visit for dine in or take away. Chairlift to The Nut summit and walk around is worthwhile for the views. All up, a pleasant stay.

We loved everything about the Inlet! We stayed in the Oystercatcher and it was incredibly well thought out with amazing attention to detail, and included everything that we needed to make it a very comfortable stay. We really appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine and cheese too - what a lovely gesture and great way to enjoy the view. We would have definitely stayed longer as it's in a great spot to explore Stanley and the north-west.

Stanely is a beautiful place. The park is well situated to beaches, a town, a golf course, and fairy penquins come in on dusk as well as during the night wallabies come into the park. Most essentials are catered for. Modern furniture and facilities. An IGA supermarket is next door. The best of all is the scenic bay next to the park. It just has a lovely old-world charm in the village streets. A Heritage town of nthwest Tasmania.

Fabulous location with a great view of Stanley. We loved the breakfast options provided, and the amenities (full kitchen with all the cooking utensils you need, washing machine and dryer, spa bath overlooking the view, comfortable king sized bed) and the small touches like the local chocolates on arrival and flexible check-in. We're already talking about coming back to Tasmania just to spend more time staying here!

Lovely cottage in the heart of Stanley. Well appointed and comfortable with full kitchen. Communication from the owner was fantastic. We were in Stanley on a Tuesday and a lot of places weren’t open. It’s a small but busy tourist town, so make sure to book ahead for dinner. There is a small supermarket and a fish shop, so you can cook if needed.

Very quaint cottage in a beautiful location with a view of the sea out the front door and the Nut at Stanley to your right. Fire was set up in the living room and we just had to light it. Being cool weather this was very nice. Some cheese was also left by the host which was a nice touch.
