When I first pulled up I was thinking “what have I done” but when I stepped inside I knew it going to be good, and it was. Plenty of space to move around. The history there is fascinating and I want to explore it more now. I’ll be back again to see it all.

Brickendon, hotel in Longford

Located in Longford and only 16 km from Symmons Plains Raceway, Brickendon provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Wonderful to have time to explore and to be immersed in the life of early colonial Tasmania - buildings, garden were amazing. Waking up to a rural outlook was such a bonus. The location also gave us time to wander the streets of Longford and to explore the towns history as well. Breakfast provisions were provided - we cheated and had them for tea, savouring our time in the cottage.

Longford has so much too offer . Woolmers Estate is a must and neighbour Brickendon estate. The history of the second estate will give you a insight to Woolmers family history it’s fascinating. Also Longford is close to the Evandale Market don’t miss it. Launceston, everything is close. We came for 2 nights and stayed for 7 didn’t want to leave.

Bustling historical township with friendly people and charming architecture. Plenty of eateries, close to Launceston. Some lovely shops and very peaceful most of the time. This weekend the town was a buzz with hundreds visiting the Open Gardens festival, like myself

The streets were easy to get around. The shopping was varied. There were plenty of cafes and the iga and hill street grocery were friendly and great to get food from. I ate at. Sticky beaks just across the road.i loved the closeness to other towns. The people were very friendly.

It is often nice whilst being a tourist to have comfortable chairs or 2 seater lounge for seating. I realise size of the room dictates putting in arm chairs. For this reasin I would never book a motel room.

I am a huge fan of historic Australian motor racing.

I am a huge fan of historic Australian motor racing. I chose to spend a night here to see remaining parts of the historical Longford circuit and the Country Club Hotel bar that once stood on the track. Sadly, the iconic parts of the circuit like the bridges and arched brick bridge are either gone or no longer accessible. Without local knowledge I could not even properly spot the Flying Mile on present roads. Longford's place in racing history has been over-taken by nearby Symmons Plains raceway

Very clean nice room with access to pool, privacy and wonderful shower. Good breakfast. While this is not a hotel, I would have felt fully safe here as a female solo traveller as well. First bit confused when arriving since you park kind of someones yard, but we were warmly welcomed and the two rooms were in a separate building from the main building. We did not test the pool since we stayed only one night here, but it did look very nice. There is lots of attention to detail here, can definitely recommend this place.

We stayed at Brickenden on recommendation from other family. We were visiting elderly relatives in Longford for a few days. The Cottage was absolutely delightful. Quiet and secluded with gorgeous views. The inside was so cosy and warm with electric heating plus an open fire for ambience. Perfect size for two adults. The renovations were so well done you would think the cottage stepped out of last century as it was. The garden is especially well done with lots of old world plants rambling about.

Large spacious room with a large ensuite with a big shower. Beautiful old building on the outside but modern rooms. Microwave, toaster, kettle and hairdryer all supplied in rooms. Easy walking distance to bistro and bakery. Is a cafe/pizza place on another corner but was closed on Mondays Lovely old church across the road with gardens and chairs and tables. Absolutely topped off my holiday. This was the best hotel I stayed at for the 9 days in Tassie.

The accommodation was perfect! It was very clean, nicely presented and had everything we needed. The hosts were really lovely people and so interesting to talk to. Breakfast was delicious - home made muesli, strawberries, yoghurt, pancakes or a fully cooked breakfast.! We would definitely recommend Aggie's as a perfect place to stay in Longford - and so much nicer than a hotel.

I loved everything about my stay at Longford Riverside Caravan Park, I loved being near the water, I really loved the caravan as it had everything, having a shower in the caravan was a bonus as it saves going the shower recess specially in the colder months, I would definitely stay there again and would recommend to everyone I know and to friends

The very warm welcome at reception in the heritage village. The heritage cottage, surrounds and cottage garden were beautiful with a lot of effort to restore the cottage. Wonderfully private and peaceful looking out on the fields. The fresh eggs for breakfast delicious. Absolute bonus to walk in the heritage garden and village.

This was a great place to stay in Longford for the comfort, facilities, location and price BUT there was no wifi in the rooms FOR THREE DAYS. Not mine, not my family's, not another guest's. Several complaints from all of us didn't change this - EVER. I needed to work, all three days. I could not. Very, very disappointed.
