We are located in close proximity to the beautiful Cow Bay beach, numerous waterholes, mangroves and rainforest boardwalks. Our location is ideally suited to travel this special area - from Cape Tribulation to the Daintree River The bungalows’ construction utilised rammed earth to ensure a cool interior and designed to maximise views of the mountain ranges from the comfort of your bedroom and bathroom. Each bungalow has private undercover decking with seating and self -contained cooking facilities. Each has an private outdoor bath to look at the evening sky and landscape. A significant area of the property has trees with discrete open spaces as well as tranquil spots to enjoy the flora and fauna. Further, there is a creek, meandering through Wompoo that ensures a welcome retreat for quieter contemplation.

We are a friendly couple who respect people's privacy. Our house is 20 metres away from the bungalow. Guests are more than welcome to come up to the house if they have any questions, would like any advice on the area or need to access the wi-fi. We also take bookings for reef trips and other activities in the area. The Neighbourhood During the two hour drive from the Cairns International and Domestic Airports, you will travel the scenic Coral Sea coastline till you cross the Daintree River by ferry. Once aboard the iconic ferry you can sense the change of pace as you slowly switch off and start your journey of digital detoxing. Wompoo Eco Retreat is just five kilometres from the beautiful Cow Bay Beach. Other easily accessible places are Hutchinson Creek, the Daintree Discovery Centre, Coopers Creek Wilderness tours, Canoe Tours, tropical ice cream outlets and a yoga retreat. Reef trips from Cape Tribulation can be arranged by your hosts and this is only a 30 min drive away. There are a number of restaurants and a hotel in the area, however, if you would like to eat in at your accommodation the bungalow is equipped for self catering.
