Set on the Ghent-Bruges Canal within a 10-minute walk from historic Bruges, Market Square and the Belfry, Barge Johanna B&B offers air-conditioned cabins on a boat. Guests can benefit from free WiFi in public areas and free parking nearby the property. Overlooking the canal, all rooms are fitted with an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a wash basin and a toilet. Bed linen is available as well. At the Barge Johanna, a homemade breakfast is served in the shared living area every morning. When the weather is nice, you can sit out on the upper deck. Bicycles can be rented on site to explore Bruges and its surroundings. From the bed and breakfast, it is less than 1 km to Bruges Railway Station. From here, you can travel to Ghent in 35 minutes. Company information

After a hectic life in ICT and physical education, Kris and Patsie decided to change course and offer relaxing barge cruises in Belgium and France on their live-abord hotelship Johanna in summer. During winter season, the rooms are available for B&B in Bruges. We both love meeting new people and sharing information, having a pleasant chat or just see that our guests are happy.

Neighbourhood information

Being moored on the canal just outside the city center of Bruges, this is one of the most quiet areas to stay. In the morning you may be woken by quacking ducks swimming beneath the portholes. Apart from the historic city of Bruges at walking distance from the schip, Damme and Sluis are at cycling distance (6 and 15km) along the canal. Even the Belgian coast is worth a visit, with Ostend at 25km, or the Belle Epoque village of De Haan and the mondaine city of Knokke with its many modern art galleries, golf course and "The Zwin" nature reserve.
