Having three young children ourselves, we understand the importance of families taking time to do things together, and would like to contribute to offering affordable and enjoyable family vacations. Bancroft is the mineral capital of Canada, located on the Canadian Shield, surrounded by lakes and trees. It is described by visitors as having a "rugged beauty". Eagle's Nest is a high lookout over a rock precipice from which you can see for miles. Egan Chutes is an area of river full of rapids, accessible by a hiking trail. Silent Lake Provincial Park and Algonquin Provincial Park are both 30-40 minutes away. The town of Bancroft has some delicious restaurants (Vito's Pizzeria, B.C. Café, The Granite) as well as familiar favourites (Subway, McDonald's, Pizza Pizza). Enjoy the many unique shops and the farmer's market as well.
