In some villages in South Moravia, such a custom is maintained, which is based on folk tradition. On the night of May 1st, witches are burning and at the same time road signs appear. The local youth is having fun and at night they will write you a message or a nickname in front of the house. It's a long tradition and the messages are mostly funny and cheerful. One day, such an inscription also appeared at our bridge. Žabinec. The frogieland was called the local part of the playground, where there is groundwater, and also many frogs. We liked Žabinec and it has remained as our name. Inadvertently and unknowingly, the village boys came up with a name for our boarding house. And we thank them for that.

Kurdějov is a nice small village with lots of potential for the future. Historicaly, it was known as one of the biggest wine area in Czech land, but it had suffered downturn during second half of 20.century. Nowadays, village representatives want to restore the renome, and with a help of historical landmarks (church from 14.century Kostel svatého Jana Křtitele) and building infrastucture to make tourist business growing. Kurdějov historicaly known as Curdieiow/Gurdau is regarded as one of among several lost villages in Czech Republic, where original inhabitants were moved out after WWII.
