The location was perfect, in the middle of the centre of Cairo. We were surrounded by locals watching a soccer match outside. Very few tourists, a really lively neighbourhoods where Egyptians live, go shopping, go out for dinner and roam the streets. The staff was also very kind and friendly in giving us recommendations for a rooftop bar to watch the soccer. There were locals and Arabs watching with us, which was very fun! Thanks for the recommendations from the staff! :)

There are too many things I liked and all I can say in summation is, I really enjoyed my stay with El Otel and wished I had booked with them for the entire time I was in Cairo! The team was amazing, the room was beautiful and I really had a good rest there. The breakfast is a MUST-HAVE > it was a huge portion but completely local and made to order. The location is also super convenient, though it's not right next to certain tourist attractions. However, nothing a quick Uber ride could not solve and the team is more than happy to help you arrange custom transport too! Thank you to the wonderful team at El Otel!

From the outset the staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming and throughout our stay they were kind enough to check how everything was going and resolve any issues (new lamp) quicky. They were also able to give us restaurant recommendations and a parting gift! The rooms are great! Unique, beautifully decorated, spacious and clean, ours had a nice balcony. Unlike other hotels our room felt personal and the whole space feels very homely. The location is in the heart of the city, with restaurants within walking distance and nothing further than a short Uber away. (Whilst others have mentioned it's hard to find we were able to without too much trouble, the signs are small but it's where it should be on the map.)

Very nice location in the very center of Cairo, very animated, and not so noisiy because on secondary streets (you are in the atmosphere of Cairo center, but you can sleep well). And also the personnel is very nice and very helpfull, with possible use of kitchen, fridge and washing machine. Globally we had a very nice stay.

The location is convinient, breakfast is tasty and huge (for me), falafel is the best! :) Rooms are comfortable and beds (mattress) are very good. The hotel guideline is adorable! All the staff is brilliant! All of them are very caring, friendly and helpful!

We liked: 1/ Downtown location 2/ Nicely furnished and comfortable room 3/ Welcoming and helpful staff 4/ Room rate. Also, the traditional breakfast was good. The location is great if you want to be in Downtown, it is on a side street so relatively quiet by Cairo standards, although the rear does overlook a pedestrianed street with cafes.
