The Almijara Residence is a multi awarded, privately owned Boutique guest house, architecturally designed, interior decorated & lovingly refurbished in 2017, offering five individual rooms, described as “perfectly light & airy with a beautiful clean modern finish”. Our rooms range from "intimate & cozy" to our plaza view suites, all providing a high standard of en-suite facilities. Whichever room you choose you can be assured of a wonderful stay & a warm and friendly welcome from your hosts. Winners of the Global Travel Guide awards for 2021/2022 as the Best Modern Guest House , Spain and also the European Travel & Hospitality Award 2020 as the Best Modern Guest house in Andalucia, we look forward to welcoming each and every guest and nationality in our friendly way to make them feel at home from the start.

Neighbourhood information

The Residence Location: The Plaza location gives you an ideal base to explore Cómpeta with its amazing history, stunning Moorish architecture, individual shops, restaurants and tapas bars. The village is located seven hundred meters above sea level with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, countryside and Mediterranean, it is best known to many for its locally produced wine, available both dry and sweet, as well as being plentiful and cheap. Situated in the Axarquia region, a beautiful whitewashed Andalusian village amidst the majestic mountain scape of the Sierra Almijara.  The village has Moorish roots, evident in the style of the village, with its winding, narrow streets and peaceful squares. Located 20 kilometers north of the coastline of Algarrobo Costa, a car journey of half an hour and 53 kilometers from the Centre of Malaga, about an hour’s drive away. With the coast close by, there is plenty of opportunity to experience the more contemporary side of Andalusia. Natural surroundings.
