The view was spectacular!!!!! The villa was in a beautiful peaceful area where we enjoyed the quiet immensely. We really enjoyed the pool and the spacious rooms. The jacuzzi was also nice - we only got to enjoy it on our last day as it wasn't heated, and we only took the villa for 2 nights.

This B&B is centrally located in Cómpeta and is an absolute delight. A traditional house in Cómpeta with an interesting history. It is just around the corner from the main square, yet still on a quiet street.
We felt very welcome and comfortable. We are grateful to Amber and Jason who are excellent hosts, helpful in every way, from their communication before you arrive giving clear instructions on parking via whatsapp, and throughout our stay, including assisting as needed with suitcases.
More importantly, they are friendly and courteous hosts that take every opportunity to share information on restaurants, activities and features of the area. In great part they make the experience of Cómpeta complete and must be very proud of what they have created with Casa Maroma.
The breakfast is excellent. Good home made selection every morning and very good coffee.
Our room was clean, comfortable and restful, good linens, tv, and really all you need.
The Casa has a cozy common living room with fire and a roof terrace filled with plants and a comfortable and relaxing lounge area. Amber and Jason shine through in the decoration of their Casa with a fusion of traditional Spanish, with tasteful modern features, local art, and warm beautiful touches of their native Cornwall.
Can highly recommend this charming B&B. Would return to Cómpeta for the lovely and friendly energy of the village, and to their B&B Casa Maroma without hesitation.

After you are here for a short while you get the feeling of a community that is healthy and functional. There is an outdoor market once a week. The restaurants and cafes are good, the shops are lovely. Very nice wine and local product shop on a corner steps to the right of the main square. Walk around Cómpeta and you will find several gems of shops, views, and eating places. Cómpeta's streets are hilly and you have to have comfortable grippy shoes. In the short time we were there our legs defnitely got a workout! A very friendly place, 25 minute drive from the coast. But frankly, we loved the energy there and didn't even miss being on the coast. It was relaxing, had art, culture, food. Lovely air and sunshine!

Set in the hillside mountain you find the truly Mediterranean white houses and buildings tiered up the mountainside. As one can imagine narrow streets and lots of steps, steep climb in Competa. Park the car and enjoy the walk, stop at one of the cafes and take in the atmosphere.
However, if you are mobility impaired I would think otherwise.
Once you are in Competa and at a view point embrace the surroundings. Reserve a table at Restaurant Pilon for a truly enjoyable meal.

Great town just to wander around, lovely little streets, plenty of photo opportunities. The restaurants in the square by the church serve very decent food - tapas and similar. Competa is located well for trips to the beach - Nerja, Maro being two we enjoyed and also for trips to the Alhambra and Rhonda (bit of a drive but worth it). Would not really like to drive on the winding road up to Competa in the dark! An April visit was a good choice, not too hot and spring flowers in abundance. There were many walking groups around - those hills look compelling but challenging!

An idyllic town on the verge of the mountains and natural park. There are a lot of expats but the town still has a very Spanish charm. Medical center open and very accessible if needed. Restaurante el Pilon has the best ever lamb chops grilled to perfection with char coal. Several small supermarkets so you won't get hungry even if you're self catering.
People were very friendly in general.

Nestled in the heart of Andalusia, this charming hill town captivates with its timeless allure. Cobblestone streets wind through quaint squares, revealing glimpses of rich history and a warm, welcoming community. A must-visit gem!
I loved the host of the home. They are from Holland and welcomed us with the best smiles and spark. From the beginning my friend and I found it easy even to just sit and have a chat with them. They gave us some welcoming Moscatel Wine which is the local one there in Compéta. Apart from that, the location of the place was quite convenient to check out all the cool restaurants, bars and shops nearby. One last thing. Breakfast included was absuloutely amazing. So much thought and care put into it I was impressed!
Prime location: a few steps from the only main square in Competa, and yet very silent.
Superb two-tiered roof terraces. Delightful attention to detail in the renovation of this 100+ year old house: original locks, tiling, windows& doors were kept and rooms smartly and discretely redesigned to suit modern standards (wet areas & heating). The owners obviously wished to share their dream of a loving happy place to live.
Prices are very decent given the quality. Ideal for solos, couples and families.
I shall return.
Fantastic modern apartment, close to the centre of Competa. The apartment is tastefully decorated and is well equipped with kitchen utensils, dishwasher, washing machine etc., everything you need for your stay. Two terraces, one generally shaded with a BBQ, and a sunny roof terrace with 360 degree views. Lidia was quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay. I would highly recommend booking this apartment, if you are holidaying in Competa.
Utterly fantastic. Amber and Jason were perfect hosts. The room was lovely, with a wonderful little private roof terrace. There was also the shared roof terrace with amazing views of the valley and Competa. Amber prepared delicious breakfast every day and were always friendly and ready to help with any advice or guidance. The location was spot on, just 2 minutes from the main square, with bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!!!!
What a great b & b. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Great hosts, great accommodation, newly renovated, safe and secure parking nearby and very close to bars restaurants and shops. Plus a lovely hillside town to explore. Competa is the most friendly place with a good deal of local history to discover. Breakfast included a good choice of food and was nice and informal. An ideal relaxing place and we will definitely return, thanks David and Tracey.
The spouses Stork are very hospitality and take good care of their guests. They are happy to help with tips on excursions.
The house is located up in the mountains, a few minutes drive from the cosy Competa. Windy roads and small steep slope last bit. So nothing for those who don’t like driving or if you’re easily getting riding sick. But the view is fantastic. The accommodation is simple but pleasant and spacious. We'll be happy to come back!
The property is exceptional- ultra modern and clean - like a contemporary New York loft apartment!
Location is perfect for accessing Competa’s bars and restaurants and for walking , with a beautiful sea view - when the weather is good ;-)
Every utensil and facility you could need for a home from home for any length of stay - all very high quality and stylish
Albert met us upon arrival in the local plaza and brought us to the hotel 1 minute away and showed us our room, spacious and rustic charm, very clean and also had a fridge )
We went to the plaza for a meal which Albert had booked for us and also paid for our bottle of wine thanks again, lovely hotel and Competa is a beautiful village
KiCo was by far the best home stay we had in Spain. Parking was free, very comfortable bed, hot shower, amazing breakfast, view from the terrace and central to the town. Dave & Tracy’s generosity and hospitality was beyond our expectation. If you have the chance to come to Cómpeta, this stay is a must. 😊

This is the perfect place to stay in Competa.
This charming villa and the apartment had a
magic view of the hills, the village and the
and sea in the distance. The indoor space as well as the outdoor space and pool area were lovely.
We really loved staying here and can highly recommend it.
We liked everything. CasaB exceeded our expectations. It was stunning and the personal touch given by our hosts was second to none. The town of Competa was beautiful aswell. Great restaurants and vibe. We will visit again when we drive back through Spain. Fantastic. Great job Carsten and Bente.
This hotel is in a great location, especially for the El Noche de Vino as we were close to both squares with the festivities. We could also hear the music from the terrace which was nice later at night when we didn't want to be in the crowds anymore.
Salamandra Plaza is a lovely little hotel located on one of the main squares in Competa, right across from the church. The location is excellent. The rooms are small, but comfortable. There are several restaurants within steps of the hotel.
We like the communications with Maria such a lovely lady nothing was a problem for her the apartment was spacious and very nice decor right in Competa square breakfast was superb in the restaurant in the square all part of the price
Quaint small hotel located down one of the narrow streets of Competa well located for the central area and many restaurants and bars. The owners Amber and Jason could not have done more for us to make our stay memorable.
The close proximity to the centre of Competa
The finca suited us to the ground-could live there easily
The facilities are really thought out and everything is provided
The views are exceptional in our opinion
