Liinarannasta Kalmarin keskukseen on 5 km. Siellä on lähin linja-autopysäkki. Varsinaiset palvelut ovat Saarijärven keskustassa (22 km), mutta palveluita löytyy myös yhtä lähellä sijaitsevasta Karstulasta ja kauempaa Kannonkoskelta, Pylkönmäeltä sekä Kyyjärveltä. Saarijärven seudulla on ravintoloita, museoita ja kesäteattereita, uima- ja jääkiekkohalleja sekä Paavonrinteet laskettelijoille. Lisäksi seudulla voi harrastaa keilailua, melontaa ja koskenlaskua. Puuhapuisto Veijari, Kalastajakylä, Kivikauden kylä ja luonnonsuojelualueet (Julmat lammit on lähin) ovat suosittuja käyntikohteita. Peräti kolme kansallispuistoa sijaitsee päiväretken päässä: Pyhähäkki, Salamajärvi ja Etelä-Konnevesi. Tulomatkan varrella etelästä päin voi käydä myös Leivonmäen tai Isojärven kansallispuistossa.
