Company information

Why Merikoivula and how did it get started? The current owner has enjoyed vacationing and fishing in various parts of Finland for 30 years. Mostly with with his family and friends, sometimes with business partners. In recent years, he began to come across the fact that four families didn’t seem to fit right into anything. Here and there were a couple of adjoining cottages built in the 70s, but half of the group had to spend the night somewhere far away, up to 10-20 km from others. No ramp for launching boats was found at several locations. Boat docks, boat rentals, tables for cleaning fish were in most places either in poor condition or completely missing. It all left the feeling that this form of vacation has not received enough attention. So originally it was planned to build something just for the own family and friends, but then he saw Merikoivula and the story begun, in June 2019. During the 2020, 7 cozy and luxurious Villas were completed and original Villa Holm 1, had a total makeover. Cottage Holm 2 and 6 Summer cottages or campsites had some facelift as well. We have made all possible to offer you the best fishing holidays in Finland.

Property information

The Villa has 1.5 floors. There are three bedrooms on the first floor and one separate bedroom on the second floor – up to 8 beds in total. Bed linen, towels and post-stay cleaning as well as firewood and 1 bag of charcoal are included in accommodation price. Use of the rowing boat is free of charge. If you would like to rent a motorboat for fishing you can do it on the spot subject to availability. In the BBQ-house there are smoke ovens and one LPG grill In the living room with an open kitchen, you can enjoy the warmth of the fireplace and the wonderful forest view from the floor-to-ceiling window. There you will find a high-quality kitchen equipment and tableware (electric stove, oven, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, dishwasher, all kitchen utensils, kettle and fully automatic coffee machine Jura). You can spend time on the villa’s 50 m2 terrace with a spacious canopy, either grilling on Kamado Joe or otherwise just having some rest. You can relax in the 90-degree sauna, where the HUUM electric heater offers a significant sauna experience that combines a thousand-year-old tradition with modern Nordic design. Holiday cottages in Finland – rest as it’s best!

Neighbourhood information

It takes a hour drive to get to the Moominworld on the island in front of the old town of Naantali. Kantolan Ratsutalli & Ratsuvalmennus Anu Teinilä offers a variety of enjoyment for both riders and horses in the embrace of the Archipelago Sea, in peaceful landscapes. Uusikaupunki Golf is a nautical-minded field that is a combination of park – like and scenic forest paths. The varied terrain offers suitable challenges for players of all levels. Uusikaupunki ski tunnel from October to April and at other times you get to enjoy the possibilities of the fitness tunnel. Activities in Finland are pure fun! Uusikaupunki restaurants and cafés on the riverbank can be accessed directly by boat from the wharf. Lokalahti disc golf course The Archipelago’s Trail (14.05-29.08.) is full of things to see, touch and do! It offers a unique opportunity to explore the Turku archipelago. To Kustavi restaurants and cafes like Peterzens, you can get directly to the wharf by boat or by car. Vartsalan island you can access taking a ferry. Uusikaupunki Car Museum is Finland’s most significant car museum. Due to its versatility, it is the city’s most popular year-round destination.
