Two guest rooms in a tufa house of the late nineteenth century with a garden. Both bedrooms have private bathrooms and separate toilets. The room "Loire" has a queen size bed. From its window we can see the church of Nantilly. The room "Vignes" has a queen size bed that can be separated in two single beds upon request. From its window we can see the castle of Saumur Breakfast is served in a veranda overlooking the terrace and garden. The two bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor, dedicated for guests, which is accessible by a wide oak staircase. The entrance porch allows the parking of bicycles. You can park your car In the street and the neighboring streets for free or in our garage upon request. ( Please ask before your arrival). All the restaurants in the centre of Saumur can be reached by foot in less than 10 minutes.
After a decade of running a guest house in the countryside we wanted to continue welcoming guests in another touristic area and this time in a city. We chose Saumur because we wanted to stay on the banks of the river Loire and the city of Saumur immediately conquered us. We like to share our taste for the city and its area. We will be happy to advise you on visits or hikes and share with you our "favorites"
The house is located in the city center between the Loire and the Thouet, near the church of Nantilly. The area is quiet, close to the square of Verdun. The historic centre and the castle are less than a 10-minutes walk away. Saumur is a city that offers many tourist attractions: The castle , close to the house and the abbey of Fontevraud at 15 kms The historic center that posseses many remarkable buildings The Cadre Noir and its public performances (mornings, galas) Cruises on the Loire Hiking (GR3 and many local PR) The Loire by bike and the Thouet by bike The Museum of Armoured vehicles The Loire valley wine region is famous for its sparkling and still wines. Many wineyards welcome you for tasting.
