Company information

When I was 25 I moved from England to Amsterdam and ran my own antique shop for 5 years before going on to be the head of fundraising for the Dutch breast cancer charity. After 15 years as an Amsterdammer I decided to swop one UNESCO Heritage Site for another, and moved to the Dordogne in 2015! After moving, the renovations of Le Mas and Le Mazet started immediately, keeping all the character of the houses but making them lighter, brighter and much more comfortable. At the beginning of the property is an old barn once used for drying tobacco, which is now my home. It's separate to Le Mas and Le Mazet, offering you complete privacy. I love the history and the charm of Le Mas & Le Mazet, and the beautiful countryside all around it, with all the wildlife, peace and tranquility it offers. This part of France is not only beautiful, but has exemplary food and wine, culture and history. And I'm dealing in antiques again, so if you want to know where the best brocantes and flea markets are, just ask!

Go completely Dordogne in this charming 16th century restored farmhouse (Le Mas) and small cottage (Le Mazet), situated between the medieval towns of Monpazier and Beaumont du Périgord, only 40 minutes from Bergerac Airport. Renovated by Joris van Grinsven in 2016, they combine comfort and understated style. Modern furniture and design elements compliment the history and character of the buildings. 2.5 acres of garden offer you private areas to relax amongst lavender and rosemary, enjoy the wildlife and birds, or dine out under the stars. There are unspoilt views over glorious countryside and to the 12th century village church.

Neighbourhood information

There is much to explore in the area. Markets selling local produce and antiques. Castles, churches and prehistoric caves, as well as restaurants serving the region’s specialities (such as truffles, duck and foie gras). There are stunning walks and cycle routes on the doorstep; canoeing down the river, golf, horse riding. We are happy to advise on what to do and where to go.
