This property is by definition suitable for lovers of peace, space and nature. The property is very quietly situated at the end of a no through road. The garden with a view of the surroundings gives complete privacy at the same time. The house was originally an old mining building with cast iron trusses that are still preserved. The ruin is divided into different homes, each with its own character, in terms of height (6 meters), large windows, location and views. Due to its location on a mountain, the house and garden have different levels. There is also a source originally, which acts as a natural refrigerator. Because of the height of the living room, the fireplace also had to be fitted in proportion and was therefore 'spacious', but it fits in well with the perspective.
The Cévennes appeal to us because of the purity of nature, with both deciduous and coniferous forests. In addition, there is still no talk of an over-stressed commercial environment. In other words, we can enjoy the tranquility, nature and not to forget the typical French picturesque villages with its specific architectural style. A style that really appeals to us. Furthermore, we found it a challenge to create a place of our own, together with the builders of the former ruin, to 'play' with the spaces in accordance with our wishes. That process of devising, coordinating and shaping together has brought us a lot of relaxation and pleasure. In addition, it is our shared passion to shape the interior, in keeping with the home and the environment. A no less important aspect was and is the personal design of the garden and the design of the terraces and also give it its own character. A real challenge due to robustness and the different levels.
