The property is clean, full of character and very welcoming. As soon as I stepped into the hall and was met by Katie who lives there I felt very much at home. And there is the thing, I would happily live in a house like this one. Anyone who stays here will surely find no reason to complain.

Alma House is a lovely Victorian building providing accommodation within a 7-minute walk to the town centre. This bed & breakfast is a 7-minute walk to the Vodafone shuttle bus stop, a 5-minute drive to the M4 motorway and 2.5 km to Vodafone headquarters and the beautiful riverside walk. Beautifully decorated, the rooms feature free fast WiFi, digital TV with built-in DVD player, double pine bed, armchair, pine desk and chair, washbasin and shaver point, hot drink facilities and their own fridge. There are 3 shared toilets, power shower and separate bathroom with original cast-iron bath. Bathrobes and towels are provided. Guests can help themselves to a continental style breakfast of toast, cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts, with tea, coffee and juice. There is limited well-lit on-street parking nearby.

Alma House is a lovely Victorian building providing accommodation within a 7-minute walk of Newbury town centre. This bed & breakfast is a 20-minute walk from the train station and 5-minute drive to the M4 motorway. It takes around 20 minutes to walk to Vodafone headquarters (part of which is a beautiful riverside walk) and a supermarket is less than 2 minutes walk away. The two double rooms available to rent are beautifully decorated and each room features free superfast WiFi, Smart TV, double pine bed, armchair, pine desk and chair, washbasin and shaver point, hot drink facilities, hairdryer and a fridge. The rooms are upstairs so are not suitable for people with limited mobility. PLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE SHARED BATHROOMS AND WCs. There are three shared toilets, a power shower and separate bathroom with original Victorian cast-iron bath. Bathrobes and towels are provided. Guests can help themselves to a Continental breakfast of toast, selection of cereals, porridge pots, fresh fruit and yoghurts, with tea, coffee and orange juice provided. A microwave is provided for guests to use. There is limited parking on the drive in front of the house and free well-lit on-street parking nearby.
Dermot and Katie have run Alma House B and B for over 15 years. We would be delighted if you want stay with us and want to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Newbury is a safe, quiet town with all amenities anyone would need. Nearby are Highclere Castle, home of Downton Abbey, Newbury Racecourse and historic Donnington Castle. The Kennet and Avon Canal runs through the centre of the town with its colourful canal barges, swans and ducks, waiting to be fed.
