This beautiful apartment on two floors can sleep 5 guests in 2 bedrooms, and is accessed via the private balcony on the first floor. Enter a spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area with high vaulted ceilings, beams and meadow views. In your fully equipped kitchen-diner with gas hob/oven range, microwave, fridge, freezer, dish washer and washer/dryer, you will find everything you need as well as dining area for 5. Time spent with family and friends is precious which is why we have created a spacious but cosy and warm living area equipped with comfortable sofas and chairs for you to make the most of your valuable time together. Both bedrooms, on the ground floor, are equipped with digital TV's, luxury mattresses and good quality bedding to guarantee a comfortable and relaxing stay. In the shared ground floor wet room bathroom, we provide the softest towels, and cruelty free 'Myddfai' toiletries. The shared onsite facilities are very popular with our guests - a 10 person garden hot tub and Games Room situated in the Barn. One of four properties on a 13-acre private estate, the grounds are perfect for picnics, playing, relaxing and exploring.
Tynrhyd is a family owned and run business. From your initial query right through to check out, our aim is to provide you with the highest standard of customer service possible. We offer you the warmest Welsh welcome and are on hand to help make your stay with us perfect. Tynrhyd has been in Sian’s family for generations, in the 1800’s it was part of the Hafod Estate and a working farm until 1995. When we took it over the barn were derelict. We loved the stone and oak character and rural, wild location and believed others would too. We aimed to create a holiday experience with a difference. Committed to sustainability and renewable energy, working with Welsh Oak Frame and local suppliers, the Barn has won the LABC Building Award for Excellence. We have been amazed by the positive response, how much our guests love the buildings and grounds and return time and again. The labour of love was worth it! The business has grown and we are proud to have a full time on site supervisor to look after our guests during their stay. Thank you for inspiring us to start new projects and encouraging us to maintain the high standard we believe all our visitors, and their pets, deserve.
There is so much to see and do in this area. A mile away, the village has a tiny train station and the famous Vale of Rheidol Railway. Hop on one of the steam trains and head to Aberystwyth through stunning mountain scenery. Dogs and bikes are welcome on the train so it makes for a great day out. In the village you will also find Sarah Bunton luxury handmade chocolates. and the stunning Devil’s Bridge Falls with a Nature Trail and its three bridges in the Rheidol Gorge where otters are seen. For fab dog friendly walks visit the Georgian Hafod Estate, follow waymarked trails for river scenery, woodland, waterfalls and rocky crags. The award-winning family attraction Silver Mountain Experience is an all-weather attraction, 5 minutes away by car. Explore Bwlch Nant yr Arian a forest recreation centre, with its famous daily red kite feeding, waymarked walks, cycle trails, children’s activity area, café, visitor centre and shop. Visit Elan Valley, 19 miles away a National Dark Sky Park and 72 square miles of historic landscapes and thriving wildlife, with dams and reservoirs, you can stroll, picnic or hike; cycle or mountain bike; bird watch, fish.
