Superb walks straight from the door - your dog can come too. Traditionally built in 1850, Betty's Cottage is a traditional farm cottage with open fire and period features. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed. The other two bedrooms have trundle beds - giving flexibility from singles to twins. You will also have access to & can book our private heated indoor swimming pool which is available from 7am - 9.30pm every day. The last booking slot is 8.30pm. Public transport is available from 2 railway stations, North Walsham & Gunton. We have local bus service which can be accessed approx 1 mile from the cottage. Ian and I moved to Norfolk, from Cobham Surrey, in February 2021 to begin a new adventure. Born and raised in Norfolk I have always retained strong ties with Mum and Dad, and friends still in the area. I have owned the cottage for years, but when my father passed away we moved into Brookmeadows House where he had lived for over 30 years. Taking on over 20 acres that had been largely unattended for the past few years, we have quite a challenge on our hands. We have refurbished the swimming pool, currently renovating the house, undertaking some stewardship in the wood and around the lake - along with the day jobs. We thought we would come here for a different pace of life - truth is we have never been so busy. Ian is a sports therapist - so if any guests would like to book a treatment while they are with us - just wander over to the house and see what times he has available.

This is a rural, peaceful hamlet with access to 20 acres including woods and lake on site There is walking from the doorstep to the local canal and through rural footpaths and bridleways. North Walsham is the largest market town in North Norfolk and has a a number of historical buildings. It was also part of the The Peasants’ revolt in Norfolk in 1381. There is a motorcycle museum which is situated next to the railway station & a local sports centre with a range of facilities. Heading north and you can visit Cromer & the pier, one of only five UK seaside pier's with a full working flourishing theatre and home to the only end of pier show of it's kind in the World! Sheringham is a further 5 miles along the coast, with a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Holkham beach is certainly worth a visit and it is also where the horses from the royal household enjoy their "summer camp." Gt Yarmouth with its Pleasure Beach and golden mile is approx 25 miles away to the south. It can be a great day out for the children. Norwich is approximately 17 miles away with its shopping centres, bars and restaurants is ideal if you fancy a bit of retail therapy.
