A varied selection of local birdlife can be viewed through the large breakfast window. The name "Cantrip" refers to a mischievous spirit from a poem by Robert Burns.

The historic and world renowned town of St Andrews is a mere 20 minutes away. Edinburgh can be reached by train from Cupar Station or by local bus in about an hour.
