I don’t usually do reviews but this place was something special.What a find.From communication and arrival greet to a stunning apartment and location.So beautiful and quiet yet only a 5 minute walk to the vibrant city centre minutes from all the sites you would want to see in York.The Minster and cobbled streets to Betty’s tea room and the shambles.My first visit to York but not the last.The photos of the studio do not do it justice it was lovely and clean and had every amenities you need.A great 3 days.

Welcome to Cocoa Lily, a lovely ground floor riverside studio retaining the original 19th-century brickwork and features of Rowntree Wharf, York’s most historic industrial building built in 1864. High-end spec throughout, super comfy double bed (Silent Night mattress), leather sofa, writing desk and dining table, and fully-tiled shower room, Cocoa Lily is the perfect holiday home-from-home where you can enjoy peace and quiet and still be only a few minutes walk along the river to a bustling city centre. This sort of accommodation offering the best of both worlds is so rare! Cocoa Lily is privately owned/operated by the same people who run the 5* and 10/10 reviewed ‘Cocoa Summer’ and ‘Cocoa Isabella” also in this building. You simply won’t believe you’re only a few minutes from the heart one of the UK’s most popular and friendly cities, winning national awards. No wonder the Sunday Times voted us Best Place to Live in the UK and “The perfect mix of heritage and hi-tech".
Hi there, I've spent a career in leisure and hospitality and believe it's the little touches that make a difference. Like a personal hand-written greeting, some simple treats to get you going rather than having to search for a shop as soon as you land, and an absolute commitment to cleanliness, comfort and getting a good night's sleep! I have three grown-up daughters and four grandchildren but, in my defence, I started young... I love spending time with my children (and their children), live music, food, travel, keeping active and Match Of The Day. I also operate two other 5* and 10/10 reviewed apartments (Cocoa Summer and Cocoa Isabella) in the building and I live close by so I'm usually on hand on a day to day basis!
Bang in the centre of beautiful York, a city founded by the Romans in 71 AD and now voted not only one of the friendliest European cities but also “Best Place to Live in the UK” (Sunday Times) and described as “the perfect mix of heritage and hi-tech”. And you’re only a few minutes from the heart one of the UK’s most popular and friendly cities, winning national awards for eating out (Skosh, Los Moros), craft beer (Brew York), spirits (York Gin) and tourism (York Dungeons, York Minster). The property is on the River Foss, York's second river which also has its own Appreciation Society, regularly tending to the water, river banks and walkways. The city centre is only five minutes riverside walk away, and we recommend walking the city walls or the nightly 'Ghost Walks'. There are good bus and taxi services, most of the shopping areas are heavily pedestrianised.
