Cosy Cottage is located in central Henley, a very short walk away from Market Place and the magnificent River Thames. It is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood, with little through traffic. The house itself dates back to the late 1800's, and we have preserved all the surviving historic features when renovating and upgrading it in early 2016. In fact, the brick-and-flint front of the house is Grade II listed because it is considered a characteristic feature of the area and the time it was built. We hope you will enjoy our little Cosy Cottage and like it as much as we did when we first saw it. A great base for a family holiday,romantic break or cycling and hiking in the Chiltern Hills.Waitrose and Sainsbury are a 5 minute walk so self-catering is easy but there are so many lovely restaurants, cafes and pubs you may find you don't need to buy much for the larder. Oxford Windsor and several stately homes are close enough for an enjoyable day out. There is a garage available to all guests suitable for small car models only. Free overnight parking in town car parks located within 5 mins walk.

We are a semi-retired professional couple, our kids have now grown up, and we recently moved to the Henley area. We love spending time with the family, traveling, hiking, gardening, cooking, reading and all the good things in life.

Henley on Thames is one of the most beautiful towns in England, recently voted by The Times as one of the best places to live in the English countryside and a regular winner of RHS Britain in Bloom medals. Henley’s riverside location, surrounded by the Chilterns' wooded hills and green fields, lends itself to relaxation, long lunches, interesting walks in the countryside and quirky shopping. There’s a pub where Charles I drank, a Chantry house, a butcher that smokes his own meat and independent shops still offering the personal touch. There is lots for children and the young at heart to do in the Henley but it is also well placed for days out to Harry Potter studios (booking essential), Bekonscot Model village, Roald Dahl museum. Henley has an international reputation earned over 175 years by the world’s greatest rowing regatta, Henley Royal Regatta. The town splashes out with the ‘joie de vivre’ of the summer arts festival and gets into the groove with ’80’s music festival Rewind. In fact Henley is a town of festivals offering a series of world class events to delight visitors and residents alike. Our cottage is a perfect base for exploring all Henley has to offer!
