In the centre of Keswick, the 4-star rated Dorchester House provides high-quality bed and breakfast in this popular Lake District town. Around 10 minutes’ walk from the Theatre by the Lake, this guest house offers an impressive breakfast menu and also has free Wi-Fi. Our Single Guestroom has a separate, private Toilet & Shower Room. All other Guestrooms have a private En-Suite with Shower. All rooms are complete with hairdryer, towels and complimentary toiletries. Dorchester House serves a vegetarian or full English breakfast, with Cumberland sausages, Lakeland bacon and free-range eggs. There is organic porridge, yoghurt, homemade jams and fruit salad, as well as cereals, toast and Fairtrade tea and coffee. By Derwent Water, the Theatre by the Lake offers regular cultural events, and other town centre attractions include the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery and the Cumberland Pencil Museum. Within a 15-20 minute drive, you will find the Honister Slate Mine and Whinlatter Forest Park, and the town also hosts annual jazz and film festivals.

Lorraine & Simon took over an existing Guesthouse business in July 2019. As owners and current caretakers of what we feel is a beautiful and traditional Victorian house, built in 1896 in local Lakeland Slate, with many original features to both to the interior and exterior. Purpose built as a guesthouse and other than a few years in the 1970s it has been a guesthouse for the entire time, serving guests for well over 100 years.
