The famous 'Road to the Isles' finishes in Mallaig, a bustling and thriving fishing village, popular with visitors who wish to soak up the atmosphere of a working fishing port, whilst enjoying the full range of shops and restaurants that it has to offer. Mallaig is a great gateway to the Isle of Skye with a ferry running across the Minch throughout the year. Mallaig is also the last stop for the famous Jacobite steam train, as featured in the Harry Potter movies, which follows the road to the Isles from Fort William to Mallaig and back again, a stunning journey passing through some of the best scenery in Scotland.
