Staff were exceptional - very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Food was really good and the full English was wonderful. The room was spacious and it’s lovely to have a proper sofa to sit on too! Something often lacking in much more expensive places we’ve stayed.

Arriving and just stepping into Dan's garden gave me a warm fuzzy feeling that this is was all going to be ok.
This is not the place for fans of corporate hotels and sterile, flatpack "boutique apartments". But rather if you want comfortable, relaxing, spacious accommodation with a lovely garden, the sound of birdsong and good conversation then this is the place for you.
The house is situated in a green leafy residential area of Cowes. One minute to the beach. 10 minutes walk to the centre of Cowes. (Walking home from Cowes in the evening along the sea into the sunset was a highlight.)
Overall the house is well furnished with lovely textiles and fabulous paintings -most done by family members.
The bedroom is large, nice cosy carpet, good storage, kettle etc, fresh milk available. The bathroom is not en suite but just next door. Own use. Basin in the bedroom itself.
Plenty of space for visitors to spread out in the garden, dining and sitting rooms. Dan lit a fire in the evening which was very welcome.
Simple but adequate breakfast of cereal, fruit and croissants served in a lovely dining room overlooking the garden.
Comfortable bed. I appreciated the sleep spray! No traffic noise apart from the odd sound from ships at sea.
If you dont want to go to Cowes to eat, there is a hotel two minutes walk away that does meals. A slightly longer walk along the coast brings you to Gurnard with a pub overlooking the sea with a huge terrace. Does food. Great sunset views.
Thank you Dan for a lovely stay. I hope you gave a good season

I know Cowes well because my mother in law lived there so...
I know Cowes well because my mother in law lived there so for many years I regularly visited her and stayed in the town. Since she died I have not visited as often and hadn't been to the Isle of Wight for two years until I stayed this autumn. It was a quick visit, but the shops in Cowes and the waterfront areas and town beaches are always interesting. I wouldn't stay quite as late in the year again as many places shut at the end of October or by early November, and if they're not shut completely they can be quiet and shut early (eg some of the out of town shops). Even the Cowes shops were beginning to wind down about 4pm on the Saturday and there weren't many people about. So do go but the warmer months and early autumn are probably better as there's more going on and there are more options. We ate at Mojac's and the Pier Inn, both excellent places for evening meals. The Pier Inn is also a pub but has a separate dining area. It was nice to go in pubs and for them not to be crowded but they do shut bang on 11pm.

Easy access to Osborne House in East Cowes.
Easy access to Osborne House in East Cowes. Really worth a visit! The island is very small and so one can drive round it and see lots each day.. Everywhere on the island is less than 35 minutes from Cowes (in October). Lots of good restaurants in Cowes.

We love the Isle of Wight. Beautiful island and I feel so safe there. We ate at The Coast which we thoroughly recommend. Tremendous atmosphere.
When we didn't use our car we used a local taxi who were brilliant and never let us down.

We enjoyed our visit although as it was the Isle of Wight...
We enjoyed our visit although as it was the Isle of Wight Festival during our visit traffic queues and road closures were in abundance. We spent a lovely day at the Big Cat sanctuary which was fairly empty making it a good opportunity to see the cats and talk to the keepers who are all so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Great visit. There are lots of shopping facilities, great views and lovely little hamlets and places to visit around the island. The park we stayed in was peaceful but had easy access to Cowes and to the ferry port. Friendly people and we enjoyed great weather.

We were visiting family and attending a wedding, the resort is very busy and cheerful with lovely bats, restaurants and shops and boutiques. The waterfront is very picturesque and attracts visitors of all ages. There isnt to much to do for children that i saw, but maybe thats something to look into.

We arrived on the RedJet ferry.
We arrived on the RedJet ferry. Friends gave us a lift to the B & B, but we could have walked there. Lots of nice independent shops, friendly shopkeepers. There is an ice cream hut at the beach, Cabin on the Green. We mostly walked along the esplanade to the High Street, although we also went in the opposite direction to Gurnard. The Westvale gets the sun on its patio most of the day and great for watching the sunset. We ate in The Globe, The Pier View, and The Gardens. There is a maritime museum in the library and one of the bookshops has lots of maps for walking trails. There is a floating Bridge that takes you to East Cowes. There is a bus stop at M & S food hall, but we didn't use it. Friends took us about in their car to go further afield.
Excellent location overlooking the Western end of the Cowes esplanade. Renowned for views of the sunset over the Solent, the "Solent Rooms" upstairs dining area offers a fine place to observe this spectacle. Evening meals in the downstairs bar were of a superb standard and the ale was kept very well. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shower had a good supply of hot water at more than adequate pressure. Facilities were maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness.
The Fountain Inn didn't disappoint!!! what a fantastic location!! Lovely welcoming staff... Lovely old, traditional pub/hotel... great atmosphere... lovely comfortable bed... hot shower.. and fab sea view from room 11!!!! Great choice of breakfast too!! absolutely loved it!! and wouldn't stay anywhere else if we visited Isle of Wight again!! xx
A delightful weekend in a very cosy home. Delicious breakfasts each morning kept us going all day. The hosts were very gracious and enthralled is with tales and pictures of the wildlife that visit their charming garden. Well situated in Cowes meant that we were able to explore most of the Isle of Wight.
We will definitely be back .
This accommodation was really good! It was perfect for what we wanted. The location was perfect - quiet and easily accessible from around the island. Clean, tidy with wonderful hosts, a lovely sea view and plenty of space. Mary even made sure we had a high chair for our little one! We had such a lovely time - we will return!
We loved the house and the fresh decor throughout house was beautifully done. The house was spacious and the beds were all very comfortable. The location was great for walking into Cowes and we definitely made the most of the fabulous garden. Great communication throughout, we would definitely return.
Nearly all the staff were very friendly & helpful.
Handy location for out specific stay.
Good breakfast.
When leaving - told hotel was due an upgrade last year, but postponed due to COVID, though would have been better if told at the beginning or better still before we booked.
Good sized apartment. Very central, 2 min from the red-jet ferry from Southampton!!. I needed a space where I could stay without any fuss or problems to relax on a business trip and this place worked perfectly. It was very clean, very good standard throughout.
The room was clean, spacious and very nice comfy bed. Good amenities, lots of extra towels/ hangers and cabinets. Nice location very close to town. Cowes is a good choice to stay lots of restaurant open until late night and pretty place too.
In a country location close to Cowes and near many Isle of Wight attractions. You will need a car but the parking is provided. Directions on SatNav are incorrect but owners will provide correct directions.
Stable cottages was lovely and cozy a short walk to the beach and dog friendly. Nice welcome from the owner and nice touch with eggs and milk in fridge with tes or coffee in jars.
Lovely, clean spot in a nice, quiet location only a couple of blocks from the shops, restaurants of West Cowes. Delicious breakfast. Looking forward to my next stay!
A dog friendly hotel with dog treats when we checked in. Right on the sea front away from the business of town.
Rooms spacious and staff extremely accommodating
It was close to town and the seafront. It felt like a ‘safe place’ as I was familiar with The Union. I have eaten and drank many many times as I live in Cowes.
Lovely chalet in their beautiful garden. Very calm and relaxing. Great breakfast and friendly hosts. Great location for walking into Cowes high street.
