shoreside inn 4 stars

Hotel in Shanklin

Situated in Shanklin, 60 metres from Shanklin Beach, shoreside inn features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. We really enjoyed our stay. Andy and Jo made us feel very welcome. The room was wonderful: it was spacious and very nicely decorated; the bed was extremely comfy, the bathroom well equipped and it was all very clean and it looked brand new. We had a seaview room with great direct view on the beach/sea just across the street. The breakfast was a big treat: an extensive menu with also a daily special, all deliciously cooked by Jo. Good carpark at the back of the hotel. Very much recommended!

Sentry Mead Hotel

Hotel in Totland

Situated in Totland Bay on the Isle of Wight, this award-winning, fully licensed, property offers free Wi-Fi in all areas and benefits from free private parking on site. Luxury boutique hotel where everything detail has been considered. The staff were really friendly, efficient and professional. The room seems recently renovated, as does the whole hotel, and to a very high standard. Small details like cake in the room, an honesty bar and a convenient arrangement where guests can eat their own food in the dining room. It's right next to a beach walk. Very close to The Needles and the small town centre where there are pubs and cafes.

The Wellington Hotel 3 stars

Hotel in Ventnor

Set in Ventnor, The Wellington Hotel offers beachfront accommodation 300 metres from Ventnor and offers various facilities, such as a bar and a terrace. The Wellington is very unassuming from outside but inside it is really lovely. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment and the dining room is beautifully done and looks fantastic - I'm sure the bedrooms will look as fantastic when completed, The staff were really lovely and we had such a warm welcome. We's asked for an early check in as were attending a wedding and this was no trouble at all. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and served by a lovely sever, again nothing was too much trouble. We especially liked the balconies looking out to sea - the perfect place for a much needed arrival cuppa!

FAQs about hotels on Isle of Wight

Wonders of Wordplay and Nature’s Way

With dramatic cliffs and unspoilt countryside, the Isle of Wight sits off England’s south coast. Ferries from Southampton cross The Solent to Cowes, a sleepy port which bursts into life during its annual regatta – Cowes Week.

Over the inlet is Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s summer home, while Henry VIII was behind the construction of the castle in Yarmouth. Neighbouring Freshwater is the closest town to the multi-coloured sands of Alum Bay. Next door are the Needles which you can’t thread, as the Wonders of the Isle of Wight saying goes. These eroded white cliff formations, one with a lighthouse, extend into the English Channel at the island’s south-western tip.

Near the southern tip is Chale, next to Blackgang Chine children’s amusement park, and close to Ventnor, on a hill sloping to the sea. Around the coast are the most popular beach resorts: Sandown with its nature reserve, and Shanklin with its cute Old Village and the most Isle of Wight hotels with indoor pools on Booking.com. Seaview also has a nature reserve, and nearby Ryde is a Victorian beach resort whose long pier is the docking point for ferries from Portsmouth.

Other hotels on the Isle of Wight are found in Wootton Bridge, with its steam railway, and the county town Newport, home to Carisbrooke Castle.
