This idyllic, traditional cottage, dating to 1845, is full of charm and is set on the southern side of a delightful, little market town, making it an ideal holiday base in beautiful surroundings. The cottage sleeps four in a double and king-size beds. Parking is available outside the cottage which is at a premium in Holt. The cottage has a large, lawned garden. On entering this cosy cottage, you will find yourself in the light and welcoming lounge. The lounge features comfortable seating, a log burner with firewood supplied, Smart TV, CD and Blu-ray DVD. There is a drop-leaf dining table with chairs stowed within it which frees up space for when it is not in use. The kitchen was completely refitted in January 2023 and you will find it fully equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge and counter-top freezer. You will also find a ground-floor bathroom comprising of bath with shower above, WC and wash hand basin. Going upstairs, you will find two cosy bedrooms: there’s a light and attractive king-size room with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and a smaller double room with small wardrobe and chest of drawers. All the linen is professionally laundered, hotel quality linen. The double bed has a 1500 pocket sprung mattress and the king-size has an Emma mattress. Behind the cottage is a large brick and flint outhouse which contains a washing machine and provides storage for outdoor furniture, bikes and buggies. Please note that the stairs are steep and the toilet is downstairs. Consequently, this cottage is not suitable for guests with impaired mobility

North Norfolk is a place of great natural beauty with a unique coastline and countryside. Designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty it has sandy beaches, salt marshes and rolling countryside with panoramic skies give the region a distinctive flavour. Holt is near its centre and is a historic Georgian town of great charm and character with an interesting selection of shops and an excellent range of restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. The area is outstanding for dining out. Many pubs have been taken over by young, enthusiastic chefs using local ingredients that are in abundance. A mile up the Cromer road is the popular ‘Poppy Line’ railway run by amateur enthusiasts and is one of the main attractions in North Norfolk. The line runs between Holt and Sheringham through beautiful coastal scenery and Heathland. A short distance beyond this is the renowned Sheringham Park. Holt country Park is only 300metres away, 100 acres of mixed woodland and is a Green Flag award winner with adventure playground, cafe and sculptures. Further on are good beaches at Sheringham 6 mls, Cromer 10 mls and, in the other direction Wells/Holkam 10 mls away. For birders it’s paradise with Cley Marshes [NWT] 4 mls, Titchwell [RSPB] 15 mls with Holme Observatory, Snettersham, and Stubbs Mills a bit further afield. Several historic homes,including Holkam Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Estate, Oxburgh Hall, and Houghton Hall are within comfortable striking distance. Norwich is 23 mls away, Sandringham 25 mls and ‘The Broads’ 35 mls. The villages of Cley, Blakeney and Salthouse were major ports in the middle ages but have been "stranded" due to silting up but their history and character have been retained along with their massive parish churches.
