Sea View Cottage was built in 1805 and has many original, 'quirky' features, including 2 foot thick Portland stone walls, an inglenook fireplace complete with a woodburning stove and, on the second floor, floor boarding that we suspect may have been salvaged from a sailing ship wrecked off the rocks nearby. One of the exposed roof timbers at this level previously saw service as a ship's mast and we suspect it may have been salvaged from the same shipwreck as the flooring. The upper floors have that wonderful 'seaside look' of white painted boarded floors with rugs. Our guest's comfort is very important to us. We also accept up to two well behaved dogs and the nearby Victoria Gardens (just a minute's walk away) is the perfect place to exercise them.
