We are Niall and Marta, owners of Laik. We make and manage super-stylish holiday homes in some of our favourite spots in the Lake District. Local, flexible and friendly. We go that bit extra with our homes and our hospitality to make sure your stay in The Lakes turns out just perfect.
Laik aims to do the Lake District just right. We’re from here and we live locally, so we know every crag, fell, ghyll and ginnel across our beautiful corner of the world. We exist to share a slice of life in The Lakes in the best possible way – holiday homes filled with comfort and character, and a dash of northern hospitality to make sure you’ve got everything you need for a perfect break.

Welcome to Springfield, tastefully renovated home, combining antique charm with modern freshness. You'll find comfort and style across the two levels. On the ground floor, gather in the open-plan living and dining space or rustle up breakfast in the well-appointed kitchen. Don't worry about the basics - we've got your salt, pepper, cooking oil, tea, and coffee covered.
Warm your toes with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, and settle by the glow of two log burners (you can pick up logs and kindling from local stores).
Upstairs are three plush bedrooms, two with king-size beds and one with twin beds, plus a bathroom. We provide a large and a small towel for each guest. You'll also find locally sourced Pure Lakes toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel - adding a touch of luxury to your stay.
For your entertainment, there's a Smart TV complete with Netflix, ready for a cosy night in. You'll appreciate the carefully restored period features that add character to this home while enjoying the clean, modern setting.
Outside, you'll find a cosy patio garden at the rear and a small parking space at the front. Directly across from the front door is Queens Park, a perfect spot for kids with a playground just a stone's throw away. Community store is only few minutes away. And if you fancy a scenic walk, School Knott is right around the corner. So step inside, and make yourself at home!
Few things to note:
1. Logs for the fire are not provided-but can be easily picked up at couple of local stores
2. Shoes must be removed when inside the apartment
3. No smoking allowed in the house
4. We kindly ask that you respect our lovely neighbours

Springfield, a delightful semi-detached house nestled in the heart of Windermere village. We're lucky to overlook Queens Park, with views stretching out to the gorgeous Lakeland fells. All the amenities you need are close by, including a handy community store for your day-to-day essentials.
Queens Park, right on our doorstep, is a hit with families. Little ones will love the swings and slides, while older kids can show off their skills at the large skate ramp. If sports are your thing, you're spoilt for choice with a football pitch, tennis court, crown green bowling, and squash pavilion. And let's not forget the cricket square!
For a breath of fresh air, there's no shortage of walks nearby. Orrest Head and School Knott are fantastic for a leisurely stroll or a challenging hike. And if you fancy a day by the water, Lake Windermere, including the lovely Miller Ground spot perfect for a BBQ, is just a short walk away.
All in all, it's a pretty brilliant spot for your Lake District adventure!
If you're arriving by car, there's great news for you - we have ample parking facilities right at our doorstep. One parking space in front of the house, or plenty of free on street parking on Park Road.
Once here, you can explore Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere by foot or take a quick drive to the neighbouring towns and villages.
Public transport more your style? No worries. Windermere is well-served by local buses, making it easy for you to venture around the Lake District.
For those travelling further, Windermere station is 15 minutes walk and Oxenholme Lake District railway station is about 30 minutes away by car. From here, you can catch direct trains to London, Glasgow, Manchester, and more. If you're arriving by train, you can hop on a local bus or take a taxi to get to the property.
