The Old Doctors Retreat is a beautiful, newly built, well equipped and self contained cosy apartment. Sleeps up to 2 with a King sized bed, high quality ensuite bathroom and kitchen. Relax and unwind taking in a breathtaking view of the Oxfordshire countryside from your retreat. Gated off street parking is available on request. There is a Nespresso coffee machine. Luxurious 'The White Company' Bedding. Satellite TV with Netflix app and High speed Wifi. This apartment is situated in the stunning Cotswold stone hamlet of Sandford St. Martin. It is a stunning Cotswold village with beautiful countryside and walks nearby. We are 5 mins drive to the members club of Soho Farmhouse. 15 mins from Blenheim Palace (They host The Blenheim Triathlon in September and also The Blenheim International Horse Trials also in September, The Christmas market in November and Christmas lights in December. Bicester Village designer outlet is 20 mins away and Cornbury music festival a 5 min drive (held in early July). We are also situated to the gateway of The Cotswolds and 30 mins from the dreaming spires of Oxford City. The property is in a beautiful location.
My family and I have lived at The Old Doctors House in this beautiful hamlet for 10 years. We have very recently built The Old Doctors Retreat and have put a lot of TLC into the property. We are very proud of what we have achieved. The apartment is self contained so you are welcome to come and go as you please. However, please feel free to ask if you need anything. We really hope you enjoy your stay in this wonderful part of Oxfordshire.
This is a lovely part of the country with many things to see and do. It's the perfect area for romantic walks and country pubs. Blenheim Palace is beautiful and worth a visit in nearby Woodstock. If you like to shop, you can't miss out on Bicester Village designer outlet. It's about a 15 mins drive. A 20 mins drive brings you into Oxford. If you have never been, it's definitely worth a visit. With stunning university college architecture, a beautiful river with punting available and picnicking by the river. Must sees if you want a drive, go into the depths of the Cotswolds via Chipping Norton. Visit Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and beautiful small cotswold towns. Walk through out beautiful Cotswold stone hamlet to 100 year old Sandford St. Martin Cricket Club. It's situated at the top left hand side of the village and signposted from the road. It's a gorgeous location. We have some lovely pubs in this area including The Crown Inn at Church Enstone and The Falkland Arms at Great Tew. If you prefer an Indian Meal, Bengal Spice restaurant in Deddington 6 miles away is excellent. It's a lovely part of England to visit. Happy Exploring!
