Exactly as advertised, lovely scenery and extremely cosy and private, the host Derick was fantastic, nothing was too much, definitely recommend for those wanting a short, relaxing retreat.

I absolutely loved my stay. I was in the hut by the lake which was amazing. As a solo guest on my first outing i was a bit nervous but needn't have been. I had my own very private space but close eough to feel secure. Even treated myself to a trip to Barnet in the Barn before I left! Thank you Derick and Charlotte.. just what i needed. See you again soon xx

Loved the location, it was everything we expected, loved the cd selection on the counter. And even had a Hairdressing facility on the premises, which we availed, staff was very friendly and accommodating at such short notice. The shepherds hut was in such an unspoilt landscape, we had such a relaxing time there. Will look forward to our next visit there.

loved the location, I loved all of the rewilded area with its warren of little pathways. the Swedish hot tub is absolutely immense and well worth a visit.

Derick was very friendly on arrival and we were made to feel very welcome. A very homey feel to the area, in a peaceful location. We had our own privacy but Derick was able to help with any questions or concerns as he showed us around. Shared Kitchen and bathroom facilities are lovely, clean and tidy. We chose a weekend where it was still quite frosty so I was a little chilly on the night! But we had plenty of extra blankets and the bed was lovely and comfortable. This would be fantastic in warmer weather to sit out and look at the views, eat outside and relax. Some lovely pubs near by for food also.

This place is absolutely beautiful we stayed in the Shepard’s hut by the lake with our dog and we all had a relaxed and chilled time. Derick the host is a pleasure to talk to and just left us to enjoy our weekend away but was a text message away if needed. We took all our utensils with us but didn’t need to everything was provided in the shared kitchen.

The conversion of the stables into a bathroom/kitchen block is an excellent addition so you get the best of both worlds...back to nature in the Shepherds Hut complete with solar powered lights and compostable toilet where you feel like you are in the countryside...yet a great kitchen/dining area and fab bathroom decorated in rustic chic style....loved it!

We loved our stay, the huts are super cute and cosy. The beds were so comfortable we asked the owner for details about the mattresses. Our dog loved running and laying in the long meadow grass. We caught crayfish in the stream at the bottom of the meadow and barbecued whilst the sunset. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be returning.
