Whispering Waves is a beautifully renovated and refurbished beachside apartment situated in the lovely north coast village of Porthtowan. Located above the beach shop and only twenty metres from Porthtowan's quiet and sandy blue flag beach, it offers an ideal location for a relaxing holiday.

Born in Penzance, I am Cornish, and as a child spent many hours on Porthtowan beach (as my mother had spent many summers there herself, and knew all the best rock pools, coastal walks and how to access to the man made swimming pool) . We also used to walk across to neighbouring Chapel Porth beach when the tide was out, home of the now infamous Hedgehog Ice Cream. I am proud to be able to offer this opportunity to share our little piece of paradise with you. I left Cornwall at the age of 18 to follow a career as a nanny. I now live in Somerset with my husband and our four children. My parents bought the apartments over 30 years ago, and for the last 20 we have been visiting as a family. I have been able to pass on my knowledge of the area to my children, and my children have spent hours in the sea, surfing, body boarding, and tombstoning in the pool.

Porthtowan itself is a small village and has the benefit of not being overly commercialised. Many reviews have called it a “hidden gem”, due to it having everything you need on the doorstep, within walking distance of the apartment, including The Unicorn On The Beach pub, The Blue Bar pub, Porthtowan Beach Cafe, Moomaid Ice Cream Parlour, Tris Surf Shop, Seasmiths Fish and Chip shop, Porthtowan Stores grocery shop, Porthtowan Beach Shop, Brylues Beauticians, and various pop-up caterers during the summer months, including pizzas, hotdogs, and crêpes amongst other things. Being only 10 minutes from the A30 Porthtowan is ideally situated to explore everything else that Cornwall has to offer including Flambards, the Eden Project, Paradise Park, Land’s End, Camel Creek, Paradise Park, Screech Owl Sanctuary, Lappa Valley Railway, Newquay Zoo, and many more places of interest.
