A traditional stone built house 1888 renovated 2000 with aesthetic and feeling in the heart of Mani! A small paradise in a unique natural environment of olive trees next to the beautiful sandy beaches of Vathi and picturesque towns of Gythio and historical Areopolis. What makes it so special is the fantastic view to the Lakonian Bay and the Taygetos range. What makes it magnificent is the view, the surrounding and the house itself! There is also a small apartment 35sqm on the groundloor of the building with a separate entrance. This apartment is available only for the owners.! There is a winding country road leading to the house half covered with concrete and half with asphalt. The last part, 50m from the house is only earth!
I come from Athens, I am a teacher and an author and since 2010 I was pensioned I moved to the area myself enjoying the beautiful nature. The house was built by me and my German husband because of love and respect to the area and its treasures. It is worth visiting the castles and chapels dating back to 10th century as well as many monuments of the ancient times. History and tradition joined together...Mystras, Monemvasia, Poseiden Temple, ancient Sparta, Cape Tainaron, to name but a few... The feature of the whole area are the old stone castles, towns and chapels dating up to 10th century with a great history. Some renovated and some of them in ruins.
Besides swimming in the clear blue sea water and sun bathing you can also enjoy fishing, diving, wandering, walking, climbing, ciclying, sailing, wind surfing, horse back riding, relaxing in the nature and nestling. In the summer time there are small traditional tavernas, offering local food. In Vathi, Skoutari, Gythio, Areopolis, Oitylo, Limeni as well as nice cafes right on the beach.
