Philoxenia is about being friendly to a stranger, in a particularly warm and generous way. This is what we offer as an experience. Our house is made of stone and wood. Sun light is getting in every room from plenty of windows.The house provides a fully equipped kitchen and a living room with a fireplace. There are two bedrooms,each one with a private bathroom and air condition. You would find all you could possibly need. The best part of the house is its beautiful, private, full of green yard. The house provides a fully equipped kitchen (oven, fridge, cooktops, microwave, coffee maker), and a living room with traditional furniture and a fireplace. It is equipped with TV, air condition and Internet access. There are two bedrooms, each one with a private bathroom and air condition. In one bedroom there is a double queen size bed, and in the other two single beds. In case you would like an extra bed, let us know. You would find all you could possibly need. At your arrival we offer you “kerasma”. What “kerasma is, is going to be a surprise. Moreover you can taste Cretan olive oil, wine and tsikoudia, our traditional drink, or even our homemade lemonade.
We are Antonis and Evagelia and we work as teachers in high school. We have been married 25 years ago and we are parents of 4! We love our country very much. Meeting other places around the world, with different cultures and costumes makes us exited. Moreover, we find great interest in traditional Byzantine music and folk dance of Crete. You are welcome to stay in our childhood home, having a glass of wine with us, if you want to. Stin igia mas (to health) is our toast for cheers.
As about the location, it is the right place to stay if you wish to see the main attraction in west Crete. The well-known beaches are easy to be approached. Falasarna beach is just 10 minutes by car, Elafonisi beach is about an hour away, and 5 more minutes from the point of departure for Balos-Gramvousa, even if you choose bus or ship to reach Balos. Samaria Gorge is well-known, as well. You can contact us any time for any information you would probably need. Kasteli Kissamou, the center of the area is less than 10 minutes driving. In the center you can find supermarkets, tavernas, bars. We will give you details about sightseeing and Museums of the area. Moreover, there are two mini markets really close to the house. We suggest you to visit next village, Kaliviani, as well, where you can find nice tavernas and restaurants, and the beautiful Garden Bar.
