Welcome to Seagull Cottage, a charming bed and breakfast nestled just outside the picturesque village of Portmagee, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mountains of the Iveragh Peninsula. We set us apart with a newly renovated house with a fresh and minimalistic design and aesthetic seaside decoration. One of our main focuses is to offer perfectly clean rooms to ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable from the first moment you enter our property. The warm and welcoming hallway leads to our bright and modern rooms. Extremely comfortable beds invite you to spend a relaxing evening and ensure a perfect nights sleep to recharge and unwind. When you awake in the morning, a continental, fresh breakfast with home baked goods is waiting just for you. You can enjoy a freshly brewed coffee while taking in the amazing views of the surrounding area. A fireplace in the breakfast room ensures a cosy and relaxed atmosphere at every weather and season. Whether you're exploring the stunning Skellig Islands, visiting local sights, or simply looking for a cozy place to unwind, your experience at Seagull Cottage will be truly unforgettable.
We always shared a strong interest for traveling. Before settling in Kerry, we spent a great amount of time with adventurous travels around the world and discovering new places. From the United States to New Zealand, a work and travel on the east cost of Australia, several trips to Thailand, a roadtrip from Perth to Sydney in a campervan or a temporary residency in Vietnam are just some examples of the stories we have to tell. With Portmagee we have found a place where we have settled permanently as we instantly fell in love with the small village and the beautiful area. With opening our own Bed and Breakfast accommodation we could fulfill our dream and we are very excited to welcome you so you can also discover this magnificent and breathtaking area we now call home.
Portmagee is a departure point to the well known "Skellig Michael", a UNESCO world heritage site, famous for a 6th century monastery settlement and the filming location for Star Wars movies. There are endless opportunities for everyone and every taste and we are more than happy to share our knowledge of the area.
