Shiplake Mountain Farmhouse and Cottage are situated in the heart of West Cork. There is no passing traffic so it's very safe for children and pets. All bed linen and towels are provided. We also provide tea, coffee, cooking oil, salt and pepper. Washing machine in the utility area. Wood burning stove in the sitting room. We provide a welcome/starter pack of for the stove. Logs, briquettes coal etc are available from the garage in Dunmanway. Gas central heating. The hot water is instant. Unfortunately, due to the current high cost of electricity and gas we now have to charge for usage. Both are metered and will be read on arrival and departure and charged based on units used. Clean, fresh water is supplied from our own well. There is a small woodland to enjoy with open/bonfire and children's play area. The large garden welcomes you to rest, relax and enjoy the views.

Myself and my partner Jackie have been here at Shiplake Mountain for the past 15 years. We have been running self catering accommodation here since 2008 Jackie is a working artist specialising in sculpture and I am a registered Homeopath. In our spare time we love to travel, to hike and to cycle. We both have a love of gardening and enjoy spending time in nature. We have planted many trees and hedgerows and created habitat for wild life and bio-diversity. We aim to make your holiday here a special and enjoyable experience and for you to feel at home away from home.

Shiplake Mountain Farmhouse and Cottage are half an hour drive from many lovely beaches and traditional towns and villages. Close to the Wild Atlantic Way, Sheeps Head Way and Drimoleague , with many beaches and walking trails. Half hour drive to the charming market towns of Bantry, Clonakilty and Skibbereen. A perfect location for exploring this enchanting region. Ancient monuments and local heritage sites nearby. Local walks and cycling. Horse riding, fishing, swimming and kayaking nearby. We are 5km from Dunmanway, a well equipped traditional and friendly town. There is a farmers market on a Thursday. Dunmanway has a swimming pool, tennis court, outdoor gym, children's playground, park area and a pitch and putt course. There is a yearly horse fair and horse racing over the August bank holiday weekend. The area is famous for road bowling. There is a regular bus service from Cork city to Dunmanway and on to Castletownbere via Bantry. We are 45 mins from Cork airport.
