The staff are hands down incredible first and foremost. The food was the best I had in 8 days in Kerala. The design, attention to detail and antiques across the property are incredible and makes this feel like a home, not a hotel. The pool, gardens and view are top class. I also had private yoga class each morning that was great.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The room itself was excellent - clean and well-maintained. The bathroom was spotless, which is always a big plus for me. The air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping the room nice and cool during my stay.
A big perk for me was the on-site car parking. It was convenient and secure, which is important when traveling by car.
The staff was fantastic. They were very helpful and accommodating throughout my stay. I would definitely describe them as cooperative and friendly.
Overall, I had a great experience at this hotel and would highly recommend it to others.

The one positive from Haven was the staff that ran breakfast were friendly, and happy to try and help. A shame they were constrained by the environment within which they were working.

Alleppey feels more of a jumping off point for back-water...
Alleppey feels more of a jumping off point for back-water tours, rather than anything of note in and of itself. The main beach is only really good for going for a stroll to watch the (always cloudy) sunset - it's not setup for daytime relaxation. Stepping into the town, there are very few good places to eat, and as a Westerner the lack of being able to sit somewhere with an alcoholic drink was rather strange (there are liquor stores you can buy drink from for consumption in private). We stayed as a base for five nights - two, or maximum three would have sufficed.

The beach was nice, Boathouse that we took was that good, we took the day trip boat food was not within the expectation was very disappointed as the cook was from norther instead of local cook. Therefore we had only 2 kerala dishes vegetable and friend wish other menu was Dhal, rice , chapati and raita, mix veg. The starting point of boathouse was very disappointing where we saw kids diapers , and other plastic garbage floating around. Hope they can maintain the clearness and also ensure local food is serve on the boathouse. Otherwise the journey was beautiful we took a smaller boat to visit the local houses more closer.

A nice place to visit just for a day.
A nice place to visit just for a day. We opted for Shikara boats, which worked perfectly. Some people may prefer to spend their nights in a house boat, although, It may be quite boring for such long hours in still water.
The Alleppey beach is a must visit. A lot of people also visit Marari beach, however, I personally prefer the Alleppey beach since its much cleaner.
Must try - Seafood (although I am a Vegetarian, so cannot comment on that).
Most likely, one may visit this place only once and there are very less things to do here. So planning the trip for 1 or 1.5 days is more than enough.

We did the Charlotte Cruise Boat at Alleppy as a couple for one night. The check in was better than most hotels we visited in India! Our host introduced us to the boat’s captain and chef! We were greeted with fresh coconut water and the check in was smooth. The boat was wonderful! Just like a hotel setting but on water. The views were spectacular and food was delicious! We got to pick our own fish from a local fisherman and got to go on a smaller canal boat for an hour whilst the sunset and see the narrower parts of the backwaters. The only drawback is we were not informed of the additional cost of this which was RS1000 but it was worth it!

Alleppey is probably the nicest town along this bit of the coast, its noticeably cleaner and friendlier than other more touristy places. The beach front is slightly spoiled visually by the new raised coast highway being built but once you've got used to the structure you sort of forget it and get on with other things. The town is going through a period of change and will hopefully get better once many of the old historic buildings have been renovated and put to new uses. The town has clearly suffered from changes in industry but there is a move by the town council to breathe new life into the region and the investment will be worth it and make Alleppey great again!

Only stayed here for one night, as we were planning to take the government tourist ferry from Alleppey to Kollam. However we were told that the ferry stopped running over 2 years ago and their website has not been updated to reflect this.
Overall, my stay at the hotel was satisfactory. The location was decent, but not exceptional. However, the standout issue was the lack of attentiveness from the staff. Many seemed preoccupied with personal conversations rather than attending to guests, which was disappointing. Additionally, I found the security team to be unhelpful when it came to parking my car. Improvement in staff training and security assistance would greatly enhance the overall guest experience at this hotel.
The atmosphere is a friendly comfortable family run home rather than a hotel chain institution. The top attraction is the owner, Mr Johnson Gilbert, a really extraordinary man. He is very laid back but enlightened and progressive about many things. You can talk to him about things in India, or anywhere in the world. He thinks outside the box and outside the plastic bottle (see photos). The garden has many beautiful flowers, and palm trees and mango trees.
Changed several hotels in Alleppey and this hotel is the best.
Only 3 min from the Ocean. We had a quiet room and slept well.
Large comfortable bed with artapedic mattress. European renovation.
Excellent high speed internet We were able to work.
Beautiful recreation area with pool.
What we liked most about this hotel was the manager Clint.
Very attentive, helped us with any questions we had and always very prompt.
We were very satisfied.
I was pleasantly surprised at this place. I wonder why the reviews are not better than they are? Can't really knock it for the price and the fact breakfast included. I think this hotel was a great stay and also close to an amazing Allepey Beach which has amazing waters. Staff were helpful and very flexible with keeping luggage/later checkout etc which I thought was very helpful as Ive stayed at many places which are the complete opposite.
Amazing view Homestay in Alleppey with georgous staff and warmhearted people.
- very good restaurant cafe catamaran exactly opposite Elara at the beach with amazing food
- nice yoga lounge upstairs
- a lot of privacy in the upstairs veranda
- A/C and very comfy rooms
- nice hosts - Jay helped us with everything: tour booking, train arrangements and recommendations for trips
Can only recommend this homestay!
Staff was very hospitable. We had good conversations with the manager (Alina) and the captain through the cruise. We bought some seafood from a village market and the chef cooked it to our request. They also got us some local liquor to try (coconut toddy). The peace and quiet of the Alleppey backwaters is a great experience and the comfortable stay on this houseboat made it pleasurable for our family.
It was a great experience for us as this was the first time visiting Kerala..And we were hosted in Dune Homes in Alleppey which seems to be highly hygiene n comfortable for us .We experienced the dishes of Kerala, which were provided for us, with great love n affection...
Hope this homes will provide all the guests a homely atmosphere, who will visit Allephy

This traditional houseboat offered a fun and relaxing adventure. I loved exploring the backwaters of Alleppey and witnessing a different way of life all from the comfort of a large boat with all the amenities. The staff was really sweet, the food delicious and the sights are so beautiful. I highly recommend - Jose made the arrangements super easy too!
Every thing was exceptional, right from the front desk until the house keeping!! I was given an early check in , thanks to GM Mr Sunny, who took care of each and every help being offered to us during our stay. the restaurant and its staff is worth appreciating. it’s a grand new hotel and everything things are spotless clean and maintained.
Fantastic...It exceeds our expectation..Host was very caring, helpful and in our entire journey of 17 days of karnataka and Kerala May flower heritage villa was the best place to stay in Alleppey...Room was very clean and the food was wonderful..The property is amazing..Sister Susan is the wonderful person..
The property is very nice and on the back waters.
It's on the island land and have to take boat ride from the main land. The hotel provides boat ride to amd fro from the hotel. The facility is very well maintained and the staff is also very helpful. They also provide food on your request. Loved the stay.

Location is perfect right on the water’s edge, loved the wood! - we enjoyed the views, took out a Shakira and really loved the recommended walk. Nice to have an alternative stay in Alleppey without going on a houseboat. Jeswin was so helpful with all and a pleasure to meet.
