Run by an Australian woman and a local man of the desert, we wish you to experience the eternal beauty of the Thar Desert. Bronwen (known locally as Rani) is an Australian who has made Jaisalmer her second home. A woman with a deep love for the history and culture of India, she has an accomplished professional history encompassing healthcare, community and education. Bronwen is an expert practitioner in project management and lifelong Yogini. Bronwen is one with an eye for detail and is the one who will ensure your experience is seamless and memorable. Hasem is a son of the Desert and was born in Padiyari Village close to Jaisalmer. He has successfully managed hotels, camps, tours and safaris with skill and confidence for 30 years. He has realised his dream and opened this boutique desert camp. Hasem and his staff have grown up with the ever-shifting dunes of the Thar Desert and possess an intimate knowledge of the local traditions, the history, the peoples and mysteries of this region.

Our overnight package includes evening cultural program with tea, coffee and snacks, Rajasthani dinner, overnight stay in luxury tent and breakfast. At Queen of Thar Desert Camp, we wish you a desert experience that fulfils your desires, provides the highest quality service and leaves you with lifelong memories. We have 14 luxury tents with comfortable mattresses, quality bedding, marbled floors and verandahs. Each tent has its own private bathroom with Western toilet, shower, washbasin, mirror, toiletries, premium towels and running hot water. Imagine this. After sunset jeep safari and camel ride, relax in a dance floor box to enjoy evening cultural program, a magical show of folk music and tribal dance performed with traditional instruments. After dinner, sleep in the comfort in your luxury tent with private bathroom. In the morning, relax with chai in our seating areas and then breakfast at your leisure. For those seeking a private and serene experience in the sand dunes, our overnight camel safaris offer you a different camping experience right at the very inside of the Thar Desert. Neighbourhood information

The Thar Desert, also known as the Rajasthan Desert and Great Indian Desert, covers an area over 2 million square kilometres within the Indian state of Rajasthan. About 75 per cent of the Thar Desert is in India and the remaining 25 per cent is in Pakistan. The Thar Desert is characterized by shifting golden sand dunes, high winds, sparse rainfall and very hot, sunny days before the monsoon period. Many local people still live in the traditional way in small villages surrounding Jaisalmer city. Queen of Thar Desert Camp is located at the base of Sam Sand Dunes, approximately 40 kms from Jaisalmer. Travellers are drawn to the magic of the arid, sandy Thar Desert, to experience safaris and local cultural entertainment and cuisine. Activities include camel safari, jeep safari (dune bashing), watching the sunrise, stargazing, half day jeep tour of the local relics, and walking in the National Park. Small local villages can be visited in the surrounding areas and the abandoned village Kuldhara situated between Jaisalmer and Sam, is a fascinating place to stop.
