Volterra is a nice hilltop town with a few churches and museums. The shopkeepers are friendly and they have some lovely artisan products. There is a large outdoor market on Fridays when the whole place has a wonderful atmosphere. The alabaster sculpture are stunning and unusual. There are a couple of good supermarkets with tasty deli selections. It well located for visiting other cities and towns in Tuscany.

The villa was a wonderful place to stay!

The villa was a wonderful place to stay! The building was built in the 15th century but has all the modern amenities. Our host/owner Luca was so accommodating in every way. His staff prepared a delicious breakfast each morning with many varieties of local cuisine. He had even prepared a map and detailed itinerary for several day trips if we wanted to explore the surrounding towns and other sights. This hotel was an excellent find.

Volterra is a beautiful historic town and walking around the narrow streets feels like stepping back several centuries in time. Walking around the traffic free central area was a pleasure. We visited several historic buildings including the beautiful cathedral. Also some excellent museums with great collections and works of art. There are many lovely restaurants and cafes too which make Volterra well worth a visit.

This is a large 2 story villa with its own pool, table tennis table and fooseball table. The interiors are comfortably furnished. There are beautiful views of the country side and you can also see Volterra. Our hosts Paola and Alessandro were incredibly warm and made our stay there very special. They can provide breakfast and dinner. Paola is an excellent cook and made a memorable dinner for us. This is a beautiful property with wonderful hosts. We hope to return to Casa Al Povero.

the experience at Agrihotel Il Palagetto was amazing, the location is everything with breathtaking views and surrodings. The staff was amazing always with a smile in their faces and very responsive to our needs. In terms of price comparing with what they offer is the the best deal you will find in Tuscany. MANDATORY STOP :) we pretend to come back next year and it will be agrihotel il palagetto again.

The hotel was clean, modern and has an elevator. The breakfast was outstanding, with a large variety of offerings. The staff was excellent, and Julia very graciously and enthusiastically helped translate my grandfather’s birth certificate from 1880 that we retrieved during this trip. I highly recommend this hotel.

It’s very central yet a tad offsides the many action. We recommend the Hotel for Toskana beginners that can’t yet decide what kind of hotel (vineyard, b&b or pension-style) suits them best! The hotel was all of the above combined and felt very cosy and home-ly!
